Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or a related field preferred
• 3 years’ experience line producing a newscast
• Strong writing and organizational skills
• Attention to detail is a must
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal
• Proactive and solutions-focused
• Ability to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends

Responsibilities

• Generate story ideas through research of various media sources
• Identify impactful news stories for compelling television
• Delegate tasks to associate producers and editors
• Produce timely content under heavy deadline pressure
• Keep current on local events and politics
• Attend editorial meetings to collaborate on content
• Interact with viewers on social media platforms
