Full Job Description
You Are:
  • A natural hunter. You build relationships with senior R&D and commercial leaders at MedTech companies, identify where the real pain is, and turn those conversations into scoped, signed engagements.
  • An AI enthusiast with substance. You understand how AI and data are reshaping R&D operations and you can speak credibly about it in front of a skeptical R&D business leader.
  • A med tech insider. You know the product development lifecycle, the regulatory landscape, and the pressures that keep R&D leaders up at night. You have the segment depth to be seen as a peer, not just a consultant.
  • A builder. You thrive in white space. You're energized by creating something - a new client relationship, a new capability, a new team - rather than maintaining what already exists.
  • A leader worth following. Your teams deliver quality work on time because they want to, not because they have to. You invest in developing people and leave every engagement with talent that's grown.

Job Description:

This is not a delivery-only role. We are looking for a commercially driven Senior Manager who can walk into a room with a Chief R&D Officer or VP of Innovation, earn their trust, and originate meaningful work - then lead a team to deliver it exceptionally.

You will be a key driver of our MedTech R&D growth agenda: building client relationships from scratch, shaping compelling propositions, closing engagements, and developing the next generation of Accenture consultants. AI fluency is central to how we work and what we sell.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and manage business development pipeline of new client engagements across the MedTech industry - including top OEMs and digital health companies
  • Lead C-suite and VP-level client relationships, positioning Accenture as a long-term strategic partner in R&D transformation.
  • Design and deploy AI-enabled solutions that help clients accelerate product development, improve clinical operations, and build data-driven R&D organizations.
  • Shape and pitch compelling propositions that connect Accenture's capabilities - strategy, technology, AI, and operations - to clients' most urgent R&D challenges.
  • Lead high-performing consulting teams delivering R&D transformation programs across product development, regulatory affairs, clinical operations, and medical affairs.
  • Contribute to Accenture's thought leadership in MedTech R&D - writing points of view, speaking at industry events, and shaping our market positioning.
  • Mentor and develop junior talent, building the next generation of Accenture's MedTech R&D practice.

Travel - candidate should be willing to travel up to 75% to client locations.

Here's What You Need:
  • Minimum of 10 years working in or advising the MedTech R&D industry, with deep understanding of the product development and regulatory lifecycle. Deep segment expertise in at least one area: cardiovascular, neuromodulation, surgical robotics, diagnostics, digital health, or adjacent fields.
  • Minimum of 7 years of management consulting experience, with a strong track record of business development and client origination. Demonstrated ability to build senior client relationships independently and convert them into revenue - a proven hunter, not just a relationship manager.
  • A Bachelor's degree (science, engineering, or health-related field preferred).

Bonus Points If You Have:
  • Hands-on experience applying or selling AI, data, or digital solutions within an R&D or clinical context.
  • An existing network of senior R&D, innovation, or commercial leaders at med tech companies who see you as a trusted advisor
  • Experience at a top-tier consulting firm with a strong emphasis on origination and client development - not just delivery
  • A track record of building and managing a pipeline with discipline: staged opportunities, conversion metrics, and a clear point of view on where to invest your time.
  • Experience helping clients build AI-enabled R&D operating models - not just recommending AI, but designing and implementing it.
  • Thought leadership presence - publications, conference appearances, or a professional reputation in the Med Tech R&D space.
