S.i. Systems is seeking a proactive and collaborative Legal Counsel to join our Legal Team. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will play a key role in supporting the organization's commercial, employment, compliance, governance, and regulatory activities while helping enable the continued growth of one of Canada's largest IT staffing organizations.
This role is ideal for a lawyer who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working closely with business partners, and is passionate about leveraging technology and AI to improve legal operations and contract management processes.
What You'll DoCommercial Contracts & Sales Support
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including Master Services Agreements, staffing and contractor agreements, and other customer-facing legal documents.
- Act as a key legal partner to the Sales team, providing practical guidance on contracts, customer requests, and legal risks.
HR & Employment Support
- Partner with HR to provide legal guidance on employment agreements, policies, employee relations, and employment law matters.
- Support employment-related disputes and regulatory matters and advise on compliance with applicable legislation.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
- Provide legal guidance across compliance, privacy, intellectual property, corporate governance, risk management, and regulatory matters.
- Identify and assess legal risks and provide practical recommendations to support the business.
Legal Operations & Technology
- Maintain legal records, contracts, corporate filings, business permits, and other regulatory requirements.
- Leverage AI and technology to improve contract management, legal processes, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications- J.D. or LL.B. from a recognized Canadian law school (or equivalent)
- Active membership in good standing with Law Society of Ontario
- 1-5 years (post-call) of legal experience gained in private practice, in-house, or a combination of both
- Proven experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts
- Knowledge of Canadian employment law is strongly preferred

Compensation: The salary for this position will vary based on location, experience, and qualifications.
The expected annual salary range is $100,000-140,000 + bonus.
