THE ROLEWe're looking for a Legal Associate to join our graduate programme, offering broad exposure to regulatory affairs, product counsel, compliance and governance. You'll work directly with decision-makers and take ownership of a defined area within your first year. This is a hands-on role: from day one, you'll research live regulatory questions, help manage legal matters and contribute to building our legal processes.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Support regulatory research on US digital asset law (SEC, CFTC, FinCEN, OFAC) and international frameworks (UK FCA, EU MiCA/DORA, relevant APAC regimes) - and help translate findings into practical guidance for the GC/CLO
- Assist with legal review of product launches, feature changes, and go-to-market materials, working directly with product and engineering teams
- Support drafting, review, and administration of commercial contracts - partnership agreements, vendor relationships, data/API agreements, and enterprise arrangements
- Assist the compliance function with AML/KYC programme documentation, monitoring, and audit-readiness
- Provide research and administrative support on data privacy matters (GDPR, CCPA) as they apply to product design and terms of service
- Support corporate governance administration - board and committee materials, minutes, filings, and record-keeping across US and affiliate entities
- Assist with IP administration, including trademark filings and brand protection tracking
- Provide organizational and research support on regulatory inquiries, litigation, and law-enforcement requests, working alongside outside counsel
- Take on a named area of ongoing ownership within 6-12 months, agreed with the GC/CLO based on demonstrated strength
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR- A JD (or equivalent US law degree) - a JD from a top-ranked US law program is a strong plus, though equally strong candidates from other well-regarded schools are encouraged to apply
- Approximately 0-2 years of relevant experience; candidates awaiting bar exam results, or between graduation and admission, are welcome to apply
- Genuine interest in digital assets, fintech, or technology regulation - you don't need prior crypto experience, but curiosity about the space matters
- Strong written and analytical skills, sound judgment, and comfort working directly with non-lawyers (product, engineering, commercial) in a lean, fast-moving organization
- Current or near-term eligibility to work in the United States; progress toward, or near-term intent to sit, a US state bar exam (New York preferred) is a plus but not a prerequisite
- Discretion - the matters this role touches (regulatory posture, product plans, governance) are commercially sensitive
