Lead Tech Mechanical Engineer
Summary
Provides technical support with the design and troubleshooting of automated manufacturing equipment to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost metrics.
Applies technical knowledge with regards to mechanical design, PLCs, Vision Systems, Robots, Servos, etc. to resolve problems in the manufacturing process.
Hands-on apply technical knowledge to resolve machine and process issues with regards to mechanical, electrical, or programming of high-speed automated equipment. Hands on performs corrective and preventive maintenance. Develop initiatives to improve efficiency on all machines under his responsibility.
Job Description:
· Hands on develop improvements to high-speed automated equipment for the manufacturing of medical devices.
· Performs troubleshooting, and maintenance of high-speed automated equipment.
· Use his technical knowledge and experience in programming and troubleshooting to resolve issues and to improve performance of the automated machines. By using the following technologies:
Robots: FANUC, ABB, and Stäubli (strong experience with pick an place applications)
Rockwell Automation Software: Studio 5000 (RSLogix 5000), Factory Talk Machine Edition/Site Edition, etc.
ServoMotion Controls System as Kinetix ServoDrives or similar
Advance process control as Fuzzy Logix, PID Function and Functional Charts Language, Ethernet-IP / TCP-IP Networks.
Development and programming Vision Systems using Cognex and Keyence.
Product and parts identification including RFID and Barcoding (software, printers, and readers).
· Follow all safety procedures and identify/communicate the necessary adjustments to address potential safety concerns, including the proper use of PPE (Personal Protection Equipment).
· Work with BD production, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure that goals are met.
· Maintain primary communication of performance goals and requirements identified by management.
· Support CAPA activities as required (Corrective and Preventive Actions) to address systemic issues in the manufacturing and quality systems.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in any of the following areas: Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Technology, or related Engineering discipline.
Strong hands-on experience in programming, troubleshooting, and software changes with the following technologies:
Robots: FANUC, ABB, and Stäubli (strong experience with pick an place applications)

It will be desirable that the candidate has PC Software programming experience including in C ++, C Sharp, SQL Server, Visual Basic.
Development and programming Vision Systems using Cognex and Keyence.
Product and parts identification including RFID and Barcoding (software, printers, and readers).
Strong experience with electrical and mechanical design in order to create and interpret the following:
Schematics, Solid/3D models, mechanical drawings, mechanical bills of materials
Controls Panel Design/Creation (Research supplier products for assembly components), develop electrical bill of materials.
Strong experience with high-speed assembly of plastic components with the use of Ultrasonic Welding, RF Forming and welding, UV systems, EFD dispensing systems, among others
Bilingual English and Spanish highly desirable
