Pay: $73.90 - $121.94 hourly, depending on experience

PEMCCO is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership across the design, development, integration, testing, implementation, and sustainment of advanced systems supporting critical government missions.

Job Overview

As a Lead Systems Engineer, you will serve as a key technical leader responsible for guiding engineering activities throughout the system lifecycle. From concept development and requirements analysis through integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment, you will help ensure technical solutions meet mission objectives, customer requirements, and operational needs.

You will work directly with program leadership, customers, engineers, developers, and stakeholders to develop engineering strategies, evaluate technical solutions, and support some of the most complex challenges facing government programs today.

What You'll Do
  • Lead systems engineering activities throughout the system lifecycle
  • Analyze operational, functional, technical, and customer requirements
  • Develop and evaluate system architectures, engineering strategies, and technical solutions
  • Lead system integration, verification, validation, testing, and deployment efforts
  • Conduct technical assessments, trade studies, engineering analyses, and feasibility evaluations
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, technical baselines, requirements, interface definitions, and system specifications
  • Evaluate system performance and identify opportunities for modernization, optimization, and improvement
  • Lead technical reviews, engineering assessments, and design discussions
  • Support configuration management, risk management, and change management activities
  • Coordinate engineering efforts across multiple disciplines and stakeholder organizations
  • Develop technical briefings, reports, recommendations, and executive presentations
  • Collaborate with customer representatives, program leadership, and technical teams to ensure successful program execution
  • Provide mentorship, leadership, and guidance to engineers and technical personnel

What You Bring

Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Physical Science, or a related technical discipline
  • Ten (10) years of experience in systems engineering, systems analysis, systems integration, systems development, or a related technical field
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering methodologies and best practices
  • Experience supporting requirements analysis, system architecture, integration, testing, verification, and validation efforts
  • Experience developing technical solutions for complex engineering challenges
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering efforts
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance if required

Preferred Experience
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or Federal Government programs
  • Experience serving as a Technical Lead or Lead Systems Engineer
  • Experience supporting large-scale or complex systems engineering programs
  • Experience supporting acquisition, modernization, or lifecycle management initiatives
  • Experience developing engineering strategies and system architectures
  • Experience leading integration, verification, validation, and testing activities
  • Experience mentoring engineering teams
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering approaches
