Full Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated Structural Engineer who is passionate about the construction process to lead structural building design projects out of our Houston, TX office. A DAY IN THE LIFE
• Manage projects and communicate with clients, technical drafting staff, and others outside the project team
• Prepare preliminary designs for clients
• Review building codes to assure proper implementation in design
• Attend client meetings, coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil, and mechanical engineers
• Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical drafting staff during preparation of construction documents as well as construction
• Produce construction ready design drawings coordinated with all disciplines to assure completeness and accuracy
• Manage construction administration tasks such as shop drawing review, RFI responses, and coordination with the construction teams
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
• BS or MS in Civil/Structural Engineering
• 4-5+ years of structural engineering building design experience, ideally with some experience in large-scale commercial projects
• Ability to prepare structural designs for steel, concrete, masonry, light gage steel, and understanding of foundation design
• Proficiency using Revit independently to create construction level structural drawings is required
• Knowledge of analysis and design programs such as RAM Structural System, SAP2000, RISA, or another recognized 3D design packages preferred
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, or ability to obtain within 6 months
