Sheppard Pratt School in Hunt Valley is a nonpublic special education day school providing educational, therapeutic, and daily living services to students ages 5 to 21. Our tailored programs cater to students with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, multiple disabilities, and other health impairments, ensuring each student receives the support they need to thrive. What to expect.
You will split responsibility between providing high-quality instruction to an assigned classroom 80% of the time and performing varied leadership and administrative tasks for the remaining 20% of the time.
Instructional duties (80%):
- Delivering engaging and effective instruction to students in the classroom.
- Implementing and monitoring individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Managing classroom behavior and creating a positive learning environment.
- Assessing and reporting on student progress regularly.
Leadership and administrative duties (20%):
- Serving as a mentor and resource for new or assigned teachers and staff.
- Coordinating assessments, curricula, and grading for students in the program.
- Offering expertise in classroom structure, management, curriculum, and instructional planning.

Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, education and years and level of related experience. The pay range for this position is $55,000 - $106,000 per year.
What we need from you.
- Bachelor's degree in special education, working towards a master's degree.
- Must receive master's degree in special education within 3 years of appointment.
- Must possess MSDE Initial Professional License at time of appointment.
- 2 years of progressively more responsible work experience.
