As a Lead Software Engineer in the Automation Department of R&D, you'll work on innovative software systems for critical infrastructure that support everyday life, from critical, life-saving operations to everyday tasks, like flipping a light switch.
As a Lead Software Engineer, a typical day might include the following:- Work with Application and User Experience engineers to understand user scenarios and customer use cases.
- Develop using the full software stack: from microservices implemented in go, to beautiful, responsive web frontends implemented with React and JavaScript.
- Design and deploy containerized applications that run in a Kubernetes cluster.
- Implement operating system services running on SEL's ruggedized computers or in virtualized environments.
- Employ threat modeling, static analysis, vulnerability scanning, fuzz testing and other methods to ensure the products being developed meet the highest standards for quality and security.
- Build and maintain CI pipelines to build and test new product features.

Pay Range Data: Lead Software Engineer: $115, 300 - $170,400We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level.
