Job SummaryThe Lead Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of client-facing implementation projects within an engineering-driven environment. This role independently manages project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and quality within established delivery frameworks, ensuring alignment with client objectives, contractual commitments, and technical delivery requirements.
Working across engineering, product, QA, and client stakeholders, the Lead Project Manager coordinates multiple concurrent projects, resolves delivery issues, and applies sound judgment to navigate competing priorities and dependencies. The role is accountable for successful project execution and contributes to positive financial, delivery, and client outcomes through proactive planning, risk management, and stakeholder alignment.
ResponsibilitiesClient Implementation & Delivery Ownership - Manage the full lifecycle delivery of multiple concurrent client implementation projects, ensuring alignment with contractual scope, timelines, budgets, quality standards, and defined delivery processes.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, milestones, dependencies, resource requirements, and delivery commitments.
- Coordinate project execution from initiation through testing, client acceptance, production readiness, and project completion.
- Monitor project performance against established objectives and implement or recommend corrective actions when delivery deviates from plan.
- Apply established project management practices while exercising judgment to adapt execution approaches based on project requirements, risks, and client needs.
Planning, Financial, and Risk Management - Manage project financials, including budget tracking, forecasting, resource utilization, and variance analysis, and escalate material financial risks or deviations as appropriate.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks and dependencies across technical delivery, resourcing, timelines, and client responsibilities.
- Develop and coordinate mitigation plans for project risks and issues, escalating matters requiring broader authority or senior leadership intervention.
- Manage project scope through established change-control processes, assessing and communicating schedule, resource, contractual, and financial implications.
- Maintain appropriate project governance, documentation, status reporting, and delivery metrics to support effective project oversight and decision-making.
Engineering & Cross-Functional Execution - Coordinate execution across engineering, product, QA, and other cross-functional teams throughout the software development and implementation lifecycle.
- Facilitate resolution of project issues involving competing priorities, dependencies, resource constraints, or differing stakeholder requirements.
- Influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders to meet project commitments without direct reporting authority.
- Facilitate project meetings, decision-making, issue resolution, dependency management, and action tracking across internal and external stakeholders.
- Analyze project health and delivery information to identify trends, risks, and potential barriers to successful execution.
Client & Stakeholder Management - Serve as a primary day-to-day project interface for assigned clients, establishing productive relationships and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communicate project status, milestones, risks, dependencies, decisions, and mitigation plans to internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate alignment between technical and business stakeholders to support timely decisions and successful project delivery.
- Navigate stakeholder concerns and competing priorities, escalating issues when resolution requires authority beyond the scope of the role.
- Support client satisfaction and retention through consistent communication, effective project management, and delivery against agreed commitments.
Requirements- Demonstrated ability to independently manage client-facing software implementation or technology projects through the full project lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, software development lifecycle (SDLC), and implementation delivery models.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities within established delivery frameworks.
- Ability to analyze project issues, evaluate alternatives, and exercise sound judgment in resolving delivery challenges.
- Demonstrated experience managing project scope, schedules, risks, dependencies, budgets, and stakeholder expectations.
- Ability to influence and align cross-functional teams and stakeholders without direct reporting authority.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong client-facing communication skills with the ability to translate between technical and business stakeholders.
- Ability to operate independently on established assignments while recognizing when issues require escalation or broader organizational input.
Technical & Systems Proficiency - Working knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and/or hybrid project management methodologies.
- Proficiency with project and delivery management tools such as Jira, Confluence, MS Project, or equivalent platforms.
- Familiarity with enterprise software implementations, data integrations, system workflows, and software development processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools.
- Ability to use project metrics, reporting, and delivery data to monitor project health and support informed decision-making.
Experience - Approximately 5 years of related project management, implementation, consulting, or technology delivery experience, including experience with client-facing software implementations.
- Demonstrated experience independently managing projects involving cross-functional technical and business stakeholders.
- Experience in financial services, alternative investments, or lending platforms preferred.
- PMP, PRINCE2, CSM, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
AI Skills and Experience - Demonstrated ability to use AI-enabled tools to support project planning, execution, risk management, documentation, analysis, and stakeholder communication.
- Experience applying AI tools to synthesize project information, identify risks and dependencies, and improve the efficiency and quality of project delivery activities.
- Ability to evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, relevance, and completeness and apply appropriate professional judgment before incorporating outputs into project deliverables or client communications.
- Ability to identify practical opportunities to incorporate AI into established project management workflows while adhering to company requirements for data security, confidentiality, privacy, and responsible AI use.
- Ability to learn and apply evolving AI tools and capabilities relevant to project and implementation management.
Language Skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to communicate project information, risks, recommendations, and decisions effectively to technical and business stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate effectively with client stakeholders and appropriately adapt communication based on audience and subject matter.
Education/Certifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
