DescriptionCenCore is seeking a
Lead Product Engineer II to support manufacturing, production design, product engineering, and customer-driven technical solutions in the Aurora, Colorado area. This position requires an experienced engineer with a strong background in manufacturing environments, electrical systems, product design, and real-time engineering problem solving. Experience with RF systems, RF product integration, or RF-related design challenges is highly desired.
The Lead Product Engineer II will serve as a senior technical contributor and problem-solving lead, working across engineering, manufacturing, operations, leadership, and customer-facing teams. This role will lead solution-focused "tiger teams" to resolve complex production, design, integration, and performance issues, with a strong emphasis on products used in secure government and mission-focused environments.
Experience supporting SCIF builds, ICD-705 requirements, government contracts, cleared environments, secure facility construction, or RF-related manufacturing products is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Lead engineering analysis, product design reviews, and production problem-solving efforts across manufacturing and product development teams.
- Serve as a technical lead for complex engineering issues involving electrical systems, RF-related components, product performance, manufacturability,
- integration, and fielded product support.
- Lead rapid-response tiger teams to identify root causes, evaluate alternatives, and implement corrective actions in real-time production or customer-driven environments.
- Work directly with senior leadership to brief technical issues, recommend solutions, assess risk, and support product and manufacturing decisions.
- Interface with customer engineering teams to understand technical requirements, evaluate feasibility, and incorporate solutions into CenCore manufacturing products.
- Support product lifecycle activities including concept evaluation, design input, prototype support, production readiness, technical troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, manufacturing documentation, and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, quality, operations, and program management teams to ensure technical solutions are practical, cost-effective, and executable.
- Support engineering requirements related to secure facilities, SCIF construction, ICD-705 compliance, and government customer environments as applicable.
- Help improve manufacturing processes, product quality, production efficiency, and design-for-manufacturability practices.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers, technicians, manufacturing personnel, and cross-functional team members.
- Document engineering decisions, corrective actions, technical findings, and customer-facing solution recommendations.
RequirementsRequired Qualifications- U.S. Citizenship required; must provide a valid U.S. Passport Book or Passport Card.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Systems Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Significant experience in manufacturing, production engineering, product design, or engineering support for manufactured products.
- Strong electrical engineering background with the ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and support complex technical systems.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems quickly in real-time manufacturing, production, or customer-facing environments.
- Experience leading cross-functional technical teams or solution-focused tiger teams.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership, customers, engineers, technicians, and production personnel.
- Strong technical writing, documentation, and briefing skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with competing priorities.
Highly Desired Qualifications- RF engineering, RF product integration, antenna, signal, electromagnetic, communications, or RF-related manufacturing experience.
- Experience supporting secure government facilities, SCIF builds, ICD-705 requirements, or classified work environments.
- Background supporting government contracts, DoD customers, intelligence community customers, or cleared manufacturing environments.
- Active Secret, Top Secret, or TS/SCI clearance.
- Experience with design-for-manufacturing, root cause analysis, corrective action, failure analysis, systems integration, or production sustainment.
- Experience working directly with customer engineering teams on technical requirements and solution development.
- Familiarity with configuration management, quality systems, engineering change processes, and production readiness reviews.

Education and Experience GuidanceA strong candidate will typically have:
- 7+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- 10+ years preferred for candidates leading customer-facing engineering solutions, RF-related efforts, or secure manufacturing/product development programs.
- Prior experience in defense, aerospace, secure facilities, advanced manufacturing, communications, electronics, or government contracting environments.
