In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Lead multidisciplinary teams in the planning, design, and delivery of moderately to highly complex electrical systems, including electrical master plans, low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems, protection and generation systems, facility power systems, and renewable energy solutions.
- Perform and oversee power system studies, electrical calculations, lighting simulations and layouts, communications systems designs, security systems evaluations, and other related engineering analyses.
- Serve as a primary technical point of contact for clients, industry partners, and regulatory agencies, collaborating to resolve technical issues and support successful project delivery.
- Conduct site reviews and technical studies to confirm existing conditions and ensure designs align with project requirements and site-specific criteria. Revise design requirements as needed.
- Contribute to the firm's Technical Knowledge Management program by developing white papers, technical guidance, design documentation, studies, and other materials related to new or specialized applications. Prepare technical papers and designs for publication in industry journals.
- Collaborate with sales staff to develop proposals and responses to requests for proposals. Review proposal content for alignment with firm standards, industry best practices, and applicable regulations.
- Meet with current and prospective clients to understand their existing and future design needs and support the development of appropriate technical solutions.
- Serve as a primary technical point of contact for clients, industry partners, and regulatory agencies, collaborating to resolve technical issues and support successful project delivery.
- Attend conferences, symposia, and other industry events to enhance the visibility of the firm's expertise, services, and capabilities in collaboration with sales staff.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior staff. Supervise and review the work of junior engineers and support their professional development and growth within the discipline and firm.

Skills & Abilities- Expert Knowledge of electrical low and medium voltage power distribution system design.
- Expert Knowledge of electrical engineer principles of design.
- Expert Knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Expert knowledge of federal, state and local regulations.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer license.
- 12 years of related electrical engineering experience.
- Equivalent directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required depending on project needs, workload, and business demands.

Pay Range MinUSD $140,670.00
Pay Range MaxUSD $260,208.00
Additional Pay Range InformationCDM Smith is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. In addition to geographic location, a candidate's salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training.
Additional CompensationAll bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
