About The Job You're Considering Capgemini is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Services (CIS) Senior Solutions Architect - ESM Automation & Platforms to join a high-impact, solution-selling and deal-capture organization. The role shapes integrated digital workplace solutions that improve employee journeys, service experiences, and measurable business outcomes.
The Sr. Solutions Architect - ESM Automation & Platforms plays a pivotal role at the intersection of enterprise service management, automation, observability, and managed infrastructure transformation. This role is responsible for shaping solution strategy across pursuits, solution design, transition, and early delivery, translating complex business and operational requirements into scalable, supportable, and outcome-oriented architectures. The position requires broad cross-domain understanding of infrastructure services, service management platforms, automation frameworks, integrations, and operational intelligence, along with the ability to communicate credibly with engineering teams, sales stakeholders, delivery teams, and executive clients.
This is a high-impact role suited for someone who is energized by ambiguity, transformation, and the challenge of helping define the next generation of infrastructure services. The successful candidate will help move the organization from people-centric delivery toward platform-centric, automation-first, and increasingly agentic service models; codify patterns that reduce dependence on tribal knowledge; and ensure that what is sold is technically credible, commercially compelling, and operationally achievable.
Your Role - Lead solution architecture for ESM, automation, observability, and platform-based managed services opportunities across the presales, design, transition, and stabilization lifecycle.
- Translate client business objectives, service requirements, and non-functional needs into scalable tool, platform, and integration architectures.
- Develop solution approaches spanning ITSM/ESM, workflow automation, event-driven remediation, observability, AIOps, analytics, and digital worker capabilities.
- Serve as a key bridge between engineering, architecture, sales, and delivery teams to align platform capabilities, roadmap realities, commercial commitments, and implementation plans.
- Contribute to RFP responses, solution collateral, presentations, and client discussions with both technical rigor and strong value articulation
- Define and govern integrations across enterprise tools using APIs, web services, workflow orchestration, data exchange patterns, and secure automation mechanisms.
- Support sales-to-delivery handoff by ensuring solution assumptions, architecture decisions, dependencies, risks, and operational support requirements are clearly documented and actionable.
- Create reusable reference architectures, patterns, accelerators, playbooks, and design standards that improve consistency, speed, and quality of future solutions.
- Guide teams in embedding observability, telemetry, event correlation, automation, and operational intelligence into managed service designs.
- Identify capability gaps, integration risks, and design tradeoffs early, and provide pragmatic recommendations that balance strategic ambition with delivery feasibility.
- Mentor other architects and solutioning resources by sharing cross-platform knowledge and helping broaden the team's architecture, integration, and platform engineering maturity.
- Contribute to the evolution of platform-first and agentic service models by helping define repeatable methods for outcome-based, automation-led infrastructure services.
Your Skills And Experience Required Skills- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience supporting proposals, client presentations, workshops, and executive discussions.
- Deep experience with enterprise service management / ITSM / ESM platforms, including workflow, incident, problem, change, service request, CMDB, and service operations processes.
- Strong solution architecture capability across automation, observability, monitoring, and operational intelligence domains.
- Broad understanding of infrastructure services, including cloud, servers, virtualization, networks, datacenter environments, and their operational dependencies.
- Comfortable with APIs, integrations, web services, event-driven patterns, and data exchange standards such as REST, JSON, and SOAP/XML.
- Strong automation mindset, including workflow automation, orchestration, runbook automation, and infrastructure/application automation concepts.
- Working knowledge of observability concepts including metrics, logs, traces, events, service dependency mapping, and proactive operational response.
- Ability to design technically credible solutions while also articulating value, tradeoffs, risks, and business outcomes to non-technical stakeholders.
- Practical understanding of security, authentication, certificates, and secure integration practices in enterprise environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across ambiguity and develop structured, scalable approaches.
- ITIL knowledge and practical familiarity with modern service management and operations models. ITIL certification is relevant and beneficial.
Desired Skills- Experience with AIOps, event correlation, anomaly detection, predictive operations, and intelligent automation use cases.
- Familiarity with platform engineering, everything-as-code, DevOps tooling, and distributed systems concepts as applied to infrastructure services.
- Exposure to digital workers, virtual agents, GenAI-assisted solutioning, or agentic service delivery models.
- Experience building reusable solution assets such as reference architectures, white papers, business cases, or transformation playbooks.
- Background supporting managed services transitions, service transformation programs, or operational redesign initiatives.
- Experience mentoring other architects, guiding multidisciplinary teams, or helping uplift team-wide architecture and integration capability.
- Familiarity with commercial solutioning, deal shaping, effort estimation, and risk identification for complex managed services engagements.
- Relevant technical certifications in ITSM/ESM platforms, cloud platforms, automation technologies, or observability/monitoring tools.
Experience A strong candidate will typically bring
15+ years of overall IT experience spanning a combination of infrastructure engineering, service delivery, enterprise tooling, and technical solutioning responsibilities. Within that, the ideal profile includes a minimum of
3-5+ years in architecture or solutions architecture roles, with demonstrated accountability for designing cross-platform solutions, leading technical solution direction, or serving as a senior technical authority on client-facing opportunities.
Relevant experience may come from a blend of the following:
- Hands-on engineering or implementation experience in infrastructure operations, service management tooling, automation, integration, or observability domains.
- Delivery or transition leadership experience in managed services environments, including solution handoff and early-life supportability considerations.
- Solutions architecture or technical presales experience shaping complex proposals, designing service models, and aligning technical architectures to business outcomes.
- Cross-functional experience working with engineering, operations, sales, and client stakeholders in environments undergoing modernization toward automation-led or platform-centric delivery.
