Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the manufacturing product engineer for an afterburner hardware component, with end-to-end ownership of manufacturing support and process performance
- Lead efforts to improve ergonomics, safety, and overall shop-floor execution
- Drive improvements in First Time Yield (FTY), productivity, and manufacturing efficiency
- Reduce inactive hardware, aged work-in-process (WIP), and cost of quality (CoQ)
- Support process redesign and layout optimization using lean principles and continuous improvement methods
- Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure performance supports delivery commitments for a $66M business
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma with at least 4 years of experience in a manufacturing setting).
- A minimum of 3 additional years of experience in manufacturing/production.
- GE Leadership Program Graduate in lieu of experienceis permitted.
Desired Characteristics
- Advanced experience in manufacturing or production.
- Experience with CNC machining, resistance welding, TIG welding, vertical/horizontal lathe, milling, heat treat, brazing, fabrication
- Statistical process control, improvement & escape prevention, technical requirements, GD&T, blueprint reading, problem solving, lean manufacturing
- Demonstrated success working in a unionized manufacturing environment, with understanding of role boundaries, partnership expectations, and effective coordination across represented and salaried teams.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across operations, quality, engineering, planning, and maintenance to resolve issues and improve shop performance.
- Demonstrated ability to balance delivery execution with continuous improvement, prioritizing actions that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Experience applying lean and FLIGHT DECK behaviors (Respect for People, Continuous Improvement, Customer-Driven) to drive standard work, problem solving, action planning, and sustained operational improvement.
The base pay range for this position is$115-$140k. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors,including the candidates experience, education, and skill set.This position is also eligiblefor an annual discretionary bonus based on apercentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan.This posting isexpected to close onSeptember 16, 2026.
