OverviewAs the Lead Instrumentation and Controls Engineer II, you'll define the scope of all pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, oversee standards and procedures, and support the delivery of engineering services for both existing and new upstream projects. Your expertise will help maintain the highest safety standards while optimizing costs and performance throughout all project phases.
What You'll Do and Achieve:- Lead and coordinate all instrumentation pre-commissioning and commissioning efforts, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to high standards.
- Review and implement engineering standards, procedures, man-hour estimates, and budgets, contributing to project planning and execution.
- Collaborate closely with clients, vendors, engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate smooth communication and problem-solving.
- Participate in critical reviews, including HAZOP and LOPA, to improve project safety and efficiency.
- Support the design, review, and approval of instrumentation deliverables such as datasheets, P&IDs, installation details, and control narratives.
- Assist in the development and execution of Acceptance Testing, making real-time adjustments based on testing outcomes.
- Develop and manage commissioning schedules, tracking progress, and ensuring timely project delivery.
Must-Have Qualifications:- Previous experience in a related supervisory role or close equivalent.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Extensive knowledge of design standards, safety codes, and specifications relevant to instrumentation.
- Proven ability to review and evaluate control diagrams, P&IDs, and control architectures.
- Hands-on experience with hardware selection and specification for pressure, temperature, level instruments, and control valves.
- Proficiency in data analysis software such as SAP, Excel Analytics, and Tableau.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
Nice-to-Have Skills:- Experience participating in technical and constructability reviews.
- Familiarity with project data management and documentation processes.
- Prior exposure to fire/gas detection systems.
