Full Job Description
As a Lead HS&E Advisor, you will play a vital role in supporting and advancing health, safety, and environmental excellence across Ledcor Construction operations. Reporting to the HS&E leadership team, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance to project teams, maintaining HS&E programs and documentation, supporting audits and investigations, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory, corporate, and industry requirements.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with operations, field leadership, Subject Matter Experts, clients, and subcontractors to drive continuous improvement, strengthen safety culture, and achieve industry-leading HS&E performance. Your ability to balance field-based safety support with program development, content management, auditing, and training will be essential to project success.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Conduct work area inspections and audits, working with site leadership to identify hazards, address safety concerns, and ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  • Provide HS&E guidance and support to supervisors, employees, subcontractors, and project teams, promoting a proactive safety culture.
  • Review, maintain, and update project-specific HS&E plans, safe work procedures, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and hazard assessments as project requirements evolve.
  • Research, develop, and revise HS&E standards, policies, procedures, and other management system documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory, corporate, and industry requirements.
  • Support the ongoing development and maintenance of Ledcor's HS&E Management System, incorporating regulatory updates, audit findings, incident learnings, and industry best practices.
  • Deliver HS&E orientations, training programs, and safety communications, while coaching field supervisors and operational leaders on effective program implementation.
  • Participate in HS&E audits and management system reviews, analyze findings, and support the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of project-specific HS&E programs, hazard assessments, investigations, and overall safety performance.
  • Participate in incident investigations and risk assessments, conducting root cause analyses and supporting leadership in developing effective corrective actions.
  • Maintain organized HS&E documentation and records, ensuring proper document control, version management, and accessibility across designated platforms.


Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 - 6+ years of experience in Health & Safety in complex ICI (Industrial, Commercial or Institutional) Construction projects.
  • Bachelors Degree in Health, Safety, and Environmental or a board certified safety credential from a nationally recognized organization (CRSP, CRST, ROH, ROHT) or equivalent professional designation is considered an asset.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction methods, practices, equipment, and site operations.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and implementing HS&E programs, policies, procedures, and management system documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience participating in HS&E audits, incident investigations, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with occupational health and safety regulations, COR requirements, ISO standards, and other applicable regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems, including document control and content management processes.
  • Experience supporting investigations while maintaining regulatory compliance and documentation requirements.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop professional documentation and effectively engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Valid provincial driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.


Work Conditions
  • Full-time site based work.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and navigate active construction sites while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Compensation

$90,900.00 - $121,200.00

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
