Lead Electrical Engineer ONSITE in Berkeley, CADomain-Specific Skills- Electrical architecture and component-level cost optimization for battery or industrial equipment.
- Sensor, switch, heater, pump, DC/DC converter, power-distribution, and harness interface knowledge.
- Ability to assess redundant devices, substitute components, interface impacts, and validation needs.
- Experience reviewing electrical designs and guiding distributed engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities- Own technical direction and design reviews for the electrical workstream.
- Translate system requirements into electrical architecture, component, interface, and verification requirements.
- Lead lower-cost alternative selection for switches, sensors, and electrical isolation components.
- Assess impacts to PCBA interfaces, controls, diagnostics, harnesses, BOMs, and system performance.
- Coordinate with mechanical, systems, manufacturing, supply-chain, and validation teams.
- Review nearshore deliverables and ensure release-quality documentation.
Required Skills / Experience- 8+ years of electrical or electromechanical product-development experience; battery, energy storage, industrial equipment, or automotive experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience with electrical architecture, sensors, harness interfaces, BOM optimization, and design reviews.
- Ability to lead technical decisions and mentor engineers across locations.
Salary Range: $120,000-$140,000/KThe actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
