Now, we're looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of ITOM delivery.
Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success:- Lead monthly deployments and upgrades of the ITOM SaaS suite across 20+ global data centers, including AWS GovCloud (IL4 and IL5).
- Oversee semi-annual upgrades of services like Victoria Metrics, OpenSearch, Redis, and Kafka across AWS, Oracle, and Google Cloud.
- Migrate customers between ITOM instances, apply hotfixes, implement change requests, and resolve service requests.
- Remediate monitoring alerts, drive automation initiatives, and establish repeatable, reliable processes that scale.
To ensure you're set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:- 8-10+ years of experience in a DevOps role
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field; certifications such as ITIL, MCSE, VCP, AWS, GCP, OCI are a plus
- Ability to obtain US Secret Security Clearance
- Strong experience with Kubernetes, including Helm charts
- Proficiency in Shell scripting (absolute must); additional scripting/automation experience with Python and Java is desirable
- Hands-on experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and Spinnaker, following best practices
- Solid knowledge of Terraform (must-have); Ansible experience is a plus
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and project management tools (JIRA)
- Experience with AWS (including GovCloud), Google Cloud, and Oracle Cloud
- Proficient in AWS managed services such as Kafka, OpenSearch, ElastiCache, and Postgres/RDS
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Kibana, Fluentbit, Clickhouse; knowledge of Victoria Metrics is a bonus

The annual base salary range represents the low and high end of the BMC Helix salary range for this position. Actual salaries depend on a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training, licensure, and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
The range listed is just one component of Helix's employee compensation package. Other rewards may include a variable plan and country specific benefits.
At Helix, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at /near the top of the range. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $132,975 - $221,625
