Direct Reports: Associate Digital Designer and Motion Designer

Salary: $95,000 to $105,000, Depending on Experience
* Salary is adjusted for local market rates

Position Summary:
As the Lead Designer / Art Director at Museum of the Bible you will lead the creative vision and execution of projects across both digital and print mediums. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong design background, capable of overseeing a wide range of creative deliverables-from websites and digital campaigns to print collateral and environmental graphics. You will collaborate closely with marketing, content, and development teams to ensure all creative outputs align with brand standards and drive audience engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the concept development, design direction, and execution of web, digital, and print projects.
  • Oversee and guide the work of designers, freelancers, and other creative contributors.
  • Develop cohesive visual strategies that strengthen brand identity across all platforms.
  • Collaborate with marketing and web teams to create engaging digital experiences, including websites, landing pages, and email campaigns.
  • Direct the creation of print materials such as brochures, event graphics, signage, and publications.
  • Ensure all creative deliverables meet quality standards, deadlines, and project objectives.
  • Present creative concepts and design solutions to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to keep the brand's creative output innovative.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing hands-on design work with high-level art direction.
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines, deadlines, and design standards.
  • Champion the Museum of the Bible's mission to invite all people to engage with the transformative power of the Bible.
  • As required, inclusion in official or incidental photographs and videos for MOTB and/or guests.

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of professional experience in the design field, with a portfolio showcasing both web and print projects.
  • Proven experience leading creative projects from concept to completion.
  • Proficiency with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and Figma.
  • Understanding of front-end web design principles and collaboration with developers.
  • Experience in print production processes and preparing press-ready files.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor junior designers.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills.
