Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and driven Lead Controls Engineer to join our team in Tulsa, OK. This role is a critical part of our plant expansion project and will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of controls systems, power distribution, and network infrastructure for new machining and manufacturing lines.

As the Lead Controls Engineer, you will work closely with equipment OEMs, internal engineering teams, and International Operations to oversee new control system selection, integration, and implementation. You will also support existing system upgrade, development and troubleshooting across our advanced manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop industrial control systems for complex automated equipment.
  • Create panel layouts, power distribution schemes, and detailed control wiring diagrams.
  • Program PLCs and HMIs — with a strong emphasis on Allen Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix and FactoryTalk View Studio.
  • Interface with RSLinx, Kepware, and MES systems for seamless integration and data exchange.
  • Program and maintain Fanuc robot logic.
  • Configure and maintain Cognex and Keyence vision systems, area scanners and light curtains.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers and Quality teams to implement error-proofing systems.
  • Work closely with Maintenance Technicians to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
  • Provide technical leadership to ensure OEM compliance with electrical and controls standards.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of product manufacturing experience

OR

  • Master's degree and at least 1 year of product manufacturing experience

OR

  • At least 5 years of product manufacturing experience

Desired Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience designing and installing medium and low voltage power distribution systems.
  • Experience in designing, building and commissioning control panels.
  • Strong knowledge of Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLCs, CompactLogix PLCs and FactoryTalk View Studio.
  • Experience with Fanuc Robotics.
  • Exposure to Ignition SCADA Software is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience integrating vision systems in manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems).
  • Experience with GRACO mixing systems.
  • Exposure to Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGVs) is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of instrumentation, analog signals, and basic electronics.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics.
  • Familiarity with various brands of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
