Job DescriptionOverviewYour role- Lead I&C engineering activities and guide a team of engineers in preparing high-quality instrumentation, automation, and control system deliverables.
- Define and develop conceptual and detailed designs for I&C systems, including functional and performance requirements, control logic, P&ID development.
- Prepare, review, and approve key deliverables, including design requirements, design criteria, block diagrams, functional specifications, instrument data sheets, I/O lists, loop diagrams, wiring and connection diagrams, bills of materials.
- Perform or supervise the preparation of technical specifications, calculations, vendor bid review and evaluations and site assessments.
- Track schedule and progress, resolve complex technical issues, provide technical guidance to the team, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent I&C Design Engineering during fabrication, construction, installation, and commissioning, and provide field support to the construction team for the execution of system design packages.
- Interface with engineering disciplines, suppliers, clients, and other company stakeholders to support effective project execution.
About you- Bachelor's degree in instrumentation and control, electrical, automation, or a related engineering field.
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) in good standing.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant design, implementation, or construction support experience; Metals & Minerals (M&M) processing and aluminum plant experience are considered assets.
- Minimum 5 years of technical leadership experience in an engineering environment.
- Familiarity with industrial quality requirements and applicable Quebec, Canadian, CSA, IEEE, ISA, IEC, and related I&C engineering codes and standards.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation and control system functions, configurations, and equipment used in Metals & Minerals (M&M) processing facilities, aluminum plants, and similar industrial process applications.
