We're growing our Land Development team in Kansas City and looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to help lead our projects and the people working on them.
This role is for an engineer who loves the work: solving site challenges, getting the details right, and seeing a project go from concept to built. You'll have real ownership of your projects and a hand in developing the engineers around you. If you're thinking about team leadership down the road, there's a path here for that too.
What You'll Be Doing:
You'll lead land development projects from early planning through construction, working directly with clients, municipalities, and our internal teams. Along the way, you'll:
- Lead site design for commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments, including grading, drainage, utilities, and stormwater
- Own construction documents from first sketch to final set
- Guide projects through permitting and municipal approvals
- Support projects during construction and solve issues as they come up in the field
- Mentor and review the work of engineers earlier in their careers
- Build relationships with clients who come back to work with us again
What We're Looking For:
- [6+] years of land development or site civil experience
- PE license (or the ability to obtain one in Kansas or Missouri within [X months])
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET accredited program
- Strong working knowledge of site design, grading, drainage, and utility design
- Experience taking projects through municipal review and permitting in the Kansas City area
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D
- A sense of ownership: you care about the work, your team, and your clients
Benefits
We take care of the people who take care of the work. That includes:
- Employee ownership (ESOP) at no cost to you
- 401(k) with a 3% company contribution
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage
- 16 days of PTO plus 8 paid holidays, growing with tenure
- Paid parental leave
- Company-paid life and disability insurance
- Training and leadership development programs
