Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering degree with 5+ years of HVAC, electrical, and control systems experience in laboratory settings; or 10+ years of equivalent experience without a degree.
• Knowledge of laboratory ventilation design, fume hood operation, and pressurization control.
• Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS) for HVAC and ventilation controls.
• Proficient in data management, documentation, and reporting.
• Experience with ASHRAE standards and indoor environmental quality compliance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer the Laboratory Ventilation Management Program (LVMP) comprehensively.
• Coordinate facility services and schedule all ventilation maintenance and inspections.
• Communicate effectively with occupants, government representatives, and technical staff about ventilation operations.
• Monitor laboratory HVAC, electrical, and control systems' performance continuously.
• Manage data collection and document findings on system performance, alarms, and corrective actions.
• Provide system improvement recommendations to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
• Ensure compliance with ASHRAE 55 and 62.1 standards for indoor environmental quality.
