Laboratory Supervisor with the Eurofins Discovery ADMETox team, you'll lead a talented group of scientists, oversee critical laboratory operations, and ensure the successful execution of studies that support drug discovery and development. Here's what you'll do: - Lead daily laboratory operations, balancing people, equipment, schedules, and priorities to meet client commitments, quality standards, and turnaround expectations.
- Work hands-on alongside the team to support cell-based assays, high-content imaging, high-throughput screening, and related ADMET laboratory activities.
- Coach and develop laboratory staff through clear expectations, technical guidance, training, competency assessment, performance feedback, and career development.
- Forecast workload and resource needs; coordinate coverage and adjust priorities to maintain business continuity and on-time delivery.
- Ensure laboratory activities comply with approved procedures, quality requirements, client contracts, Environmental Health and Safety standards, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain strong document and data controls, including SOPs, batch records, study data, client deliverables, quality review, and record-retention requirements.
- Monitor performance metrics, identify risks and constraints, and lead practical process improvements that increase quality, productivity, and operational reliability.
- Manage and maintain a compliant BSL-2 cell-culture laboratory and promote aseptic technique, cleanroom practices, and a strong culture of safety.
- Oversee laboratory equipment and automation platforms, including evaluation, validation, qualification, maintenance, acquisition, implementation, and lifecycle planning.
- Manage laboratory supplies, inventory, storage, departmental expenses, rebilling support, and financial audit obligations.
- Partner with clients, Study/Technical Directors, Client Services, Product Management, and cross-functional teams on project planning, execution, reporting, interpretation, and issue resolution.
- Provide timely, decision-ready communication on project status, assay requirements, risks, constraints, and escalations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support method development, portfolio expansion, site research and development objectives, and other strategic laboratory initiatives.
Qualifications- The ideal candidate:
- Bachelor's degree with 6 years of relevant experience; master's degree with 4 years; or Ph.D. with 2 years.
- At least 3 years of direct experience with cell-based toxicology assays in a contract research organization or industry laboratory.
- Demonstrated experience leading laboratory operations and scientific teams, including workload planning, technical troubleshooting, training, and performance management.
- Experience leading client projects or contract research services from planning through execution and reporting.
- Experience developing, validating, or transferring bioanalytical methods in accordance with relevant FDA, ICH, or OECD guidance.
- Proven ability to lead laboratory troubleshooting, process improvement, and method or portfolio expansion in an industry setting.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams, projects, or process-excellence initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with LC-MS, LC-UV, high-throughput analytical method development, or high-resolution mass spectrometry in ADME/DMPK or biotherapeutics applications.
- Technical knowledge of metabolomics as applied to pharmaceutical drug metabolism.
- Project management experience and a track record of leading laboratory operations with limited oversight.
