Occupational Therapist to join our team. To enhance our goals of supporting every child, Needham Public Schools seeks candidates with diverse backgrounds and experiences. This position will serve Newman Elementary School (K-5).
Job Description:The occupational therapist provides related services in the area of occupational therapy in accordance with student Individual Education Programs, as well as conducts special education student evaluations. Individual and small group therapy sessions will focus on fine motor development and sensory processing. Consultation will be provided to educational teams including general education teachers to ensure full access to learning opportunities. Parent communication and engagement will support opportunities for progress monitoring of application and generalization of skills. Occupational Therapists will participate in the development of individual education programs, data collection, and completion of progress reports. In addition to the work outlined above, this position helps support the district's specialized programs for students with more intensive needs, including the ILC and post-graduate programs.
Education and Experience: - Master's Degree
- Commonwealth of Massachusetts licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience working with students with ASD, intellectual impairment, neurological impairment and other developmental delays.

Salary is determined by education and experience, ranging from Bachelor's (Step 1) $63,217 to Doctorate (Step 14) $133,922 (This range is based on a 1.0 FTE).
