Full Job Description
Novarc Technologies is looking for a Junior Welding Engineer to join our growing team and support the production of our cobots. Summary: As a Customer Experience Junior Welding Engineer you will be responsible for providing essential support to the Senior Welding Automation Engineer in the operation and maintenance of the SWR™ (Spool Welding Robot) at the Novarc Customer Experience Center. This role will involve assisting with customer demonstrations, maintaining the center's equipment, and supporting the engineering team's research and development efforts. Location: Customer Experience Center in Houston, TX (This position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work). Duties and Responsibilities: - Assist with customer demonstrations: - Set up and operate the SWR™ under the supervision of the Senior Welding Automation Engineer. - Tack and fit coupon samples as needed. - Provide technical support and answer customer questions as needed. - Assist with post-demonstration tasks, such as cleanup and data collection. - Maintain the Experience Center: - Ensure the SWR™ and other equipment are in proper working condition. - Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting. - Keep the center clean and organized. - Support engineering team: - Assist with testing and validation of new welding procedures. - Collect and analyze data as needed. - Provide general laboratory support. - Operate forklifts: - Safely operate forklifts to move equipment and materials around the Experience Center. - Adhere to all forklift safety regulations. Minimum Qualifications and Experience: - Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Joining, or a closely related, equivalent field. - Familiarity with welding processes and robotic applications. - Basic to advanced understanding of both welding and robotics concepts. - Proficiency in manual welding techniques, specifically GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW, across all positions. - Willingness and ability to obtain a valid forklift operator's license. - Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. - A demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies. - Ability to travel both domestically and internationally for training purposes and potential product demonstrations. Nice to have: - Valid Forklift Operator's license will be a plus. - Knowledge of welding codes such as ASME Sec IX are a plus. - Pipe Welding experience is a plus. Success Metrics: - Effective assistance to the Senior Welding Automation Engineer in customer demonstrations and engineering support. - Consistent maintenance of the Experience Center and equipment. - Complete welding application projects for current and potential customers. - Consistent maintenance of the Customer Experience Center and equipment. - Accurate data collection and analysis. - Adherence to all safety protocols. Compensation package: - Base Salary: USD $75 000 - USD $90 000 + Variable Salary
