Junior Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Richardson, TX. This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious engineer with exposure to defense or geospatial environments who is eager to expand their hands-on expertise and grow their career in cloud infrastructure and DevSecOps.
In this role, you will help build, automate, and maintain critical secure cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments while collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams using cutting-edge Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization, and modern automation tools.
Key Responsibilities- Deploy, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and Helm.
- Support and maintain containerized environments leveraging Kubernetes, AWS EKS, and EKS Auto Mode.
- Configure, harden, and automate resources across both cloud (AWS) and on-premises deployments.
- Write operational scripts and playbooks (Python, Bash, Chef, Ansible) to streamline system integration, hardening, and task automation.
- Proactively solve technical challenges and collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team environment to support secure system architecture.
Required Qualifications- Education: Bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- Experience: Less than 2 years of prior relevant engineering experience (exposure to defense, intelligence, or geospatial environments highly valued).
- Work Style: Driven self-starter with a strong eagerness to learn and expand technical skills.
- Clearance: Active TS/SCI security clearance.
- Certifications: Current CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification.
- Core Technical Skills (Exposure to or basic understanding of):
- Linux administration, hardening, and scripting.
- Infrastructure deployment tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.
- Containerized environments (Kubernetes, AWS EKS).
- Hybrid infrastructure concepts (Cloud vs. On-Premises setup).
- Soft Skills: Strong oral/written communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications- Defense or geospatial domain exposure.
- AWS architecture design and integration experience.
- Broad foundational knowledge across Linux servers, networking, storage, and virtualization.
- Experience with DevSecOps practices and integrating security automation into pipelines.
- Exposure to cloud metrics, monitoring, and logging platforms (Grafana, Prometheus, Promtail, Loki).
- Familiarity with CI/CD ecosystem tools (Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, GitLab, Artifactory).
- Hands-on experience integrating Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Free/Open-Source Software (FOSS) technologies into secure, classified environments.
