Full Job Description
Vice President of IT
Your role on the team:
Strategy and leadership
Define and own the Americas IT development roadmap in alignment with business strategy and GEODIS global technology direction
Advise executive leadership on technology investments, trade-offs, and risk
Lead a pragmatic modernization strategy: decide what to retire, replatform, wrap with APIs, or rebuild, and sequence the work to avoid disrupting live operations
Delivery and execution
Oversee the full software development lifecycle across WMS, TMS, order management, yard and dock systems, billing, and customer portals
Drive delivery of customer onboarding and integrations, including EDI, API, and event-based connectivity with shippers, carriers, marketplaces, and ERPs
Mature engineering practices: Agile, CI/CD, DevOps, automated testing, observability, and release management suited to 24/7 operations
Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with minimal operational impact
Legacy and modern platform management
Maintain reliability and supportability of legacy and mainframe-era applications while reducing technical debt and key-person risk
Lead migration to cloud-native, containerized, API-first architectures, including hybrid and phased coexistence models
Establish integration patterns (APIs, messaging, EDI translation) that allow old and new systems to interoperate cleanly
Guide adoption of data, analytics, and AI/ML capabilities such as visibility, forecasting, slotting, and automation
People and organization
Lead, mentor, and develop directors, managers, and engineers across multiple teams, including onshore, offshore, and vendor partners
Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning, and upskill teams with legacy expertise on modern tooling
Own hiring, succession planning, performance management, and org design
Architecture, security, and governance
Set architectural standards for scalability, resilience, and maintainability, aligned with global architecture governance
Partner with Information Security to embed secure development and meet customer, regulatory, and compliance requirements (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, C-TPAT, customer-specific audits)
Own platform reliability, disaster recovery, and business continuity for operations that cannot go down
Financial and vendor management
Own the development budget, headcount planning, and resource allocation
Manage software developers, vendors, system integrators, contractors and licensing
Report on KPIs such as delivery velocity, quality, uptime, integration cycle time, and cost efficiency
