- You will serve as Senior IT Specialist for NLSC commands within assigned area of responsibility (AOR). Provides daily operational support to commands while functioning under the administrative and managerial oversight of IT Ops
- You will be responsible for IT-related duties as directed by the Supervisor and the on-site leadership as outlined in Section 3, Factor 2 below. Primarily responsible for IT customer support for the NLSC regional command to which they are assigned.
- You will ensure the organization's strategic plans, mission, vision, and values are communicated to other local IT professional(s), if applicable.
- You will integrate NLSC region's IT strategy, goals, objectives, work plans, work products, and services. Executes duties related to adjustments, modifications, and revisions to meet objectives.
- You will identify, distribute, and balance workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow, skill level, and/or occupational specialization.
- You will monitor and report on the status and progress of work, checking on work in progress and reviewing completed work to see that the supervisor's instructions on work priorities, methods, deadlines, and quality have been met
- You will provide technical assistance to customers to minimize disruptions of computer operations, troubleshooting, escalation and tracking information technology problems.

- Incumbents of the position are required to comply with DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program Requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2. You will earn and maintain appropriate credentials from the Cyber IT/CSWF Qualification Matrix.
- Participate in a continuous learning program as described in SECNAVINST 1543.2
QualificationsYour resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing IT customer support, troubleshooting, and technical support functions. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Experience diagnosing and resolving complex IT hardware, software, operating system, network, and end-user support problems, including determining root causes and implementing or recommending corrective actions; 2)Experience supporting enterprise IT environments, including wired and wireless networks, user access, applications, peripherals, audiovisual and communications equipment, and related IT services; 3) Experience in applying cybersecurity requirements, policies, and practices to IT systems, user access, information protection, and technical support operations; 4) Experience coordinating IT support across customers, technical personnel, management and geographically disepersed organizations including prioritizing work, escalating problems, and communicating technical recommendations; 5) Demonstrated proficiency in the IT-related competencies of Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving.
Experience that demonstrated accomplishment of computer project assignments that required a wide range of knowledge of computer requirements and techniques pertinent to the position to be filled. This knowledge is generally demonstrated by assignments where the applicant analyzed a number of alternative approaches in the process of advising management concerning major aspects of ADP system design, such as what system interrelationships must be considered, or what operating mode, system software, and/or equipment configuration is most appropriate for a given project.
