Overview of The Role
The Power BI Developer is a business‑focused analytics role responsible for partnering closely with business teams to design, deliver and sustain insightful Power BI dashboards and reports. This role acts as a bridge between business users and the enterprise analytics platform, ensuring business questions are translated into clear, accurate, and performant analytical solutions.
The Power BI Developer plays a critical role in driving data‑driven decision‑making, enabling self‑service analytics, and providing hands‑on guidance and support to business users working with Power BI in a governed enterprise environment.
How You Will Make Contributions That Matter:
- Partner directly with business stakeholders to understand business processes, KPIs, and decision needs, translating them into effective Power BI dashboards and reports
- Design, build, and deliver Power BI reports and dashboards that translate business requirements into actionable insights
- Engineer high‑quality semantic models (datasets) optimized for performance, reusability, and enterprise reporting
- Own Power BI development standards, including data modeling, DAX patterns, visual design, and usability best practices
- Partner with Data Engineering teams to consume curated Lakehouse and Fabric data assets
- Develop optimized DAX measures and calculations to support complex analytical requirements
- Enforce dimensional modeling best practices within Power BI semantic models
- Own report performance tuning, including model optimization, query reduction, and visual efficiency
- Validate data accuracy and consistency across reports, dashboards, and semantic models
- Support and resolve production issues, including data discrepancies, refresh failures, and performance degradation
- Drive user adoption by delivering intuitive, well‑designed analytical experiences
- Document report logic, data definitions, and business rules to ensure transparency and reuse
- Coach and support business users on Power BI usage, self‑service analytics, and best practices
- Document data definitions, assumptions, and report logic in business‑friendly language
Supervision
- Operates independently while aligning to enterprise BI strategy and standards
- Works closely with Data Engineers, architects, platform admin, governance and business SMEs throughout the analytics lifecycle
- Supports multiple concurrent reporting initiatives in a fast‑paced enterprise environment
- Communicates clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
You Are Best Suited for The Role If You Have the Following Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Analytics, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience developing enterprise Power BI solutions
- Strong experience with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric, with a solid understanding of modern Azure analytics services and exposure to other enterprise analytics tools in the market
- Strong foundation in:
- Data modeling and semantic layer design
- Analytical reporting and dashboarding
- Business intelligence and data visualization
- Expertise in advance modeling techniques using tabular editor and DAX studio
- Experience in maintaining language translations 6 Meta data translation and data translation
- Experience working in governed enterprise BI environments
- Experience working with SAP data and business processes (nice to have)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work across multiple business domains and stakeholders
- Uptodate knowledge of Power BI features, performance optimization techniques, and industry best practices
Technical Requirements
- Advanced Power BI development experience, including:
- Semantic model (dataset) engineering
- Advanced DAX development and optimization
- M Query for data transformation
- Report and dashboard design following UX best practices
- Strong understanding of dimensional data modeling (Kimball / star schema)
- Strong SQL skills for data validation and analysis
- Experience working with Microsoft Fabric components:
- Fabric Lakehouse (as a consumer)
- Fabric SQL endpoints
- Fabric Dataflows / Data Factory (consumption and understanding)
- Experience with Power BI Service administration:
- Workspace management
- Security (RLS/CLS, objectlevel security)
- Capacity awareness and optimization
- Familiarity with DevOps / GitHub for version control and deployment
- Understanding of data governance, security, and lifecycle management in Power BI

Salary: $88,140 to $115,685
*Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.
