About the role

Our Client Platform Engineering team is responsible for the lifecycle and security of corporate endpoints. We support macOS, Windows, Chrome OS, iOS, and Android platforms. You will work cross-functionally to develop the best endpoint experience for Faire employees while providing world-class support as an escalation liaison for the IT Operations team. We care about good engineering practices that are secure, tested, and easy to maintain that can scale to thousands of users. As AI tools become part of daily workflows, you'll also help define how we deploy, secure, and govern them across the fleet.

What you'll do:
  • Design, build, and maintain automations across our endpoint management tech stack
  • Own patching, OS upgrade campaigns, and application packaging and deployment
  • Work closely with partner teams to design the best employee endpoint experience
  • Have a keen eye for security best practices running a growing, mixed fleet of global endpoints
  • Experience developing and deploying device trust
  • Knowledge of EDR best practices and triage
  • Exceptional customer service skills as you will be a point of escalation for the IT Operations team
  • Document, teach, communicate, and reinforce procedures and best practices for the IT Team and offer technical mentorship and troubleshooting assistance to junior team members
  • Set MDM controls and security posture for AI tools and agents on endpoints
  • Evaluate and roll out AI-powered IT tooling, and use AI-assisted automation to accelerate scripting, config management, and troubleshooting
  • Leverage AI-assisted automation to accelerate scripting, config management, and troubleshooting workflows

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years managing a large distributed fleet of macOS and Windows devices
  • Hands on experience with an enterprise MDM such as Workspace ONE, Jamf, or Fleet
  • Proficiency in a shell (bash/zsh) and a scripting language (Ruby, Python, Golang)
  • Experience managing endpoints or servers at scale using code-based configuration management such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet, or SaltStack
  • Good understanding of Zero Trust or Beyond Corp concepts
  • Comfortable with complex projects and able to build proof of concepts quickly
  • Understands the importance of security, compliance, and privacy when working with personal data
  • Experience using AI coding assistants (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor) to build and maintain automation at scale
  • Familiarity with the security considerations of AI tools/agents on managed endpoints (or willingness to build this expertise)

Salary Range

San Francisco: the pay range for this role is $174,500 to $240,000 per year.

This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Hybrid Faire employees currently go into the office 3 days per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a third flex day of their choosing (Monday, Wednesday, or Friday). Additionally, hybrid in-office roles will have the flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks per year. Specific Workplace and Information Technology positions may require onsite attendance 5 days per week as will be indicated in the job posting.
