This opportunity resides with All-Domain Operations (ADO), a business group within HII's Mission Technologies division. All-Domain Operations comprises multi-domain operations, platforms and logistics, and intelligence operations.

HII designs, develops, integrates and manages the sensors, systems and other assets necessary to support integrated ISR operations and accelerated decision-making. Position Summary:

HII: Mission Technologies DMATS Program is looking for an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support the AFSOC Technology, Integration, and Support Cooperative (TISC) located in Mary Esther, Florida. The selected candidate will provide cybersecurity engineering, security architecture, technical risk analysis, and RMF engineering support across cloud-based, on-premises, enterprise transport and mobile mission environments.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Cybersecurity Engineering
    • Advise and support system engineers throughout the system development lifecycle by integrating cybersecurity requirements, evaluating technical risk, and recommending secure implementation approaches.
    • Evaluate proposed system designs, architectures, technologies, and configuration changes and cloud implementations to identify cybersecurity risks and recommend appropriate mitigations.
    • Identify cybersecurity risks and provide engineering recommendations to support secure system implementation, operation and sustainment.
    • Assess implemented cybersecurity controls to validate their effectiveness and recommend engineering improvements that enhance overall security posture of supported information systems.
  • Vulnerability Management
    • Manage enterprise vulnerability management capabilities including ACAS, STIG Manager, SCAP assessments, SBOM analysis, and related cybersecurity assessment technologies.
    • Perform vulnerability and compliance assessments to identify security weaknesses, validate cybersecurity control implementation, and assess overall security posture.
    • Analyze vulnerability assessment results, evaluate technical and operational risk, and recommend risk-based remediation strategies to system stakeholders.
    • Support continuous monitoring by validating remediation efforts, tracking vulnerability trends, and communicating significant cybersecurity risks to system stakeholders.
  • RMF and Authorization Support
    • Support information systems throughout the RMF lifecycle by providing technical expertise for security control implementation, assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring.
    • Develop technical content for RMF documentation including Security Assessment Reports (SARs), POA&Ms, security control implementation evidence, and authorization packages.
    • Evaluate proposed system changes to determine their impact on cybersecurity posture.
    • Provide technical recommendations to ISSMs, system engineers, and system stakeholders to support informed risk-based decisions.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity engineering activities in cloud, hybrid, and enterprise information technology environments.
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAM Level III certification (e.g., CISSP, GSLC, CISSP-ISSEP, SECURITY X)
  • Experience supporting RMF, security control implementation, cybersecurity assessments, and continuous monitoring with DoD/DoW information systems.
  • Experience evaluating technical cybersecurity risk and developing engineering recommendations for system stakeholders.


Preferred Requirements

  • Experience supporting AFSOC, USSOCOM, or Joint environments.
  • Experience supporting AWS GovCloud, Kubernetes, containerized workloads, and cloud-native security architectures.
  • Experience supporting DevSecOps and CI/CD pipeline security.
  • Experience implementing Zero Trust architectures and capabilities.
  • Experience supporting Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation technologies (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, or similar).
  • Experience with enterprise SIEM platforms including SPLUNK, WAZUH, Elastic Security or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience with ACAS, STIG Manager, SCAP assessments, SBOM analysis, Trellix, Trend Micro, and related cybersecurity assessment technologies.
  • Experience supporting mobile platforms and mobile device security.
  • Advanced cybersecurity engineering certifications such as Security X, CISSP-ISSEP or equivalent.
