Full Job Description
Fitch Ratings is currently seeking a Senior Market Research Associate to join the Business Relationship Management (BRM) team in New York.

This role will support the Senior Director, Head of Investor Coverage for BRM Corporates, with a primary focus on investor outreach to CLO managers and high yield bond investors. Secondary focus will help the broader BRM Corporates effort across Leveraged Finance (Banks and PE). The Associate Director will work closely with senior team members to help develop and enhance relationships across strategic investor accounts, with the goal of supporting new ratings mandates, revenue opportunities, and broader dialogue across the fixed income capital markets.

The Team

This role will be part of Fitch's Business Relationship Management organization and will support investor coverage efforts within BRM Corporates. The position will partner closely with senior members of the team and coordinate with colleagues across banker, issuer, investor, and product teams to support strategic outreach and business development efforts.

We'll Count on You To

  • Assist the senior team in developing new and enhancing existing relationships across strategic investor accounts, ultimately leading to new ratings mandates, revenue opportunities, and dialogue across the fixed income capital markets.
  • Support the Senior Director, Head of Investor Coverage for BRM Corporates in maintaining active dialogue with CLO managers and building relationships with key contacts across investor firms.
  • Help expand outreach over time into broader loan and high yield investor accounts.
  • Coordinate with other BRM colleagues across regional and product teams to align outreach, target lists, and firm messaging, and to arrange senior-level relationship meetings.
  • Develop a strong institutional knowledge of target accounts, including business platforms, funds, ratings requirements, strategies, new asset generation, organizational structures, and key personnel; maintain records of relationship touchpoints, opportunities reviewed, missed, and completed.
  • Research, develop, and prepare pitch books, marketing materials, and case studies tailored to specific firms, sectors, or opportunities.
  • Run pipeline and market share reports to support strategic insights and business development activity.
  • Stay abreast of market trends, industry developments, and relevant client activity.
  • Review CLO indentures and support identification of ratings-related considerations and business development opportunities.
  • Attend client meetings and pitches alongside senior team members.
  • Secondary responsibility: Provide support to senior members of the Banker Leveraged Finance team, including developing new and enhancing existing relationships with associate/VP-level banker professionals.
    • Responsible for research, development, preparation and presentation of marketing messages to external parties highlighting factors which differentiate Fitch and its published ratings and research from the competition
    • Developing pitch books, marketing case studies and content applicable to a specific sector or vertical for an upcoming or prospective meeting
    • Creating, coordinating and implementing outreach plans


What You Need to Have

  • A college degree, preferably in business, finance, or economics.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in leveraged finance, CLOs, high yield syndicate, loan sales, capital markets, or at a rating agency.
  • An understanding of CLOs.
  • Client-facing experience and the ability to build and maintain external relationships.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and Salesforce.
  • Ability to travel as required.


What Would Make You Stand Out

  • Experience within Structured Finance.
  • Existing relationships and/or experience with large asset managers, insurance companies, and private equity firms.
  • Familiarity with financial data systems such as Bloomberg, Intex, Trepp.
  • An energetic, proactive approach and willingness to travel for meetings and conferences.

FOR NEW YORK: Expected base pay rates for the role are between $85,000 and $100,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individual basis and may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related considerations. Base pay is one component of Fitch's total compensation package, which may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch, depending on the position.
