Full Job Description
Summary:As Certarus continues to grow we excited to be adding to our team with a key leadership role of Inventory and Procurement Manager. This position will be primarily responsible for developing and implementing systems and process for identifying and tracking of the company's inventory and distribution of equipment, assets, and materials. As well as overseeing the procurement process, setting up workflow, strategic sourcing and developing strong relationships with vendors, negotiating pricing and costs.

In addition, this position will provide leadership and direction, building the team to support these initiatives. Based in Houston, the successful candidate will be required to travel throughout North America to our operation locations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders (operations, customs, logistics, and finance) to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective inventory.
  • Manage a team of direct and indirect reports located throughout North America.
  • Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting inventory levels that drive efficient total cost of ownership.
  • Develops and maintains detailed inventories of materials and supplies located at company facilities, job sites, and occasional manufacturing facilities.
  • Maintains required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize maintenance operations.
  • Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.
  • Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes.
  • Identifies optimal shipments with attention to consolidation of company warehousing and distribution.
  • Assesses the need for material-handling resources and staffing; makes recommendations to ensure efficient accountability and storage of materials.
  • Negotiates prices for parts and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.
  • Participates as an advisory member of the engineering team, providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials.
  • Acts as part of the team coordinating engineering changes, asset retrofits, or new asset fielding to ensure timely and orderly material for operations and maintenance.
  • Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
  • Promote a positive and proactive health and safety culture within Certarus.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education or training in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or combination of education and related work experience.
  • Minimum five years of related work experience.
  • Previous management, or supervision experience, with proven leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of company products and coordination.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Supply Chain Management designations such as SCPM PMAC, APICS, or equivalent, or working towards is considered an asset.
