Financial Controls Manager to fill an opening with an industry leading, multi-entity company based in Southfield, Michigan.
Requirements of the
Financial Controls Manager- Bachelor s degree in accounting or finance
- 7+ years of relevant and progressive experience in internal controls/SOX compliance
- Pre-IPO/readiness experience highly desired
- Understanding of US GAAP, PCAOB auditing standards, SEC reporting requirements
- Strong analytical and financial analysis abilities
- Experience with Workiva GRC is preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) preferred

Responsibilities of the
Financial Controls Manager - Owner of company s SOX readiness program
- Configure and administer Workiva as company s system of record for all SOX documentation
- Build and maintain the SOX status dashboard and Audit committee reporting package within Workiva
- Lead business process control walkthroughs across all in-scope cycles
- Develop and maintain Risk and Control Matrices (RCMs)
- Conduct walkthrough interviews with process owners across Finance, Accounting, IT, Legal and Operations
- Document control activities to support design and operating testing
- Serve as day-to-day liaison to external SOX advisors and external audit team
- Support preparation of the Section 404(a) management assessment and the CEO/CFO quarterly 302/906 certification process, including management sub-certification coordination with process owners.
- Support the Accounting Transformation team s IPO readiness program
- Produce quarterly SOX status reporting to the Audit Committee
