GENERAL POSITION OVERVIEWManage railroad partner relationships and all inland traffic for US, Canada and Mid/South America. Negotiate renewal contracts and analyze performance to identify and recommend solutions to maximize incentives and minimize penalties. Provide guidance to internal teams on rail market conditions and opportunities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES- Engage railroad partners to maintain strong relations and service quality
- Analyze railroad performance against contract terms to identify issues and opportunities
- Prepare and deliver rail market insights and recommendations to management, covering North and Latin America routes and contracts
- Manage and train teams responsible for arranging intermodal transportation of ocean freight
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONSESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage high level business relationships and influence key decision makers
- Advanced knowledge of international containerized shipping operations and intermodal transfers of ocean freight
- Highly effective verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
- Advanced skills in MS Excel, including generating formulas and pivot tables
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a strong sense of accountability for team performance
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE- 10 years of experience in ocean shipping operations or ocean freight pricing analysis
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, business, or related field, or equivalent experience
ENVIRONMENT / EQUIPMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS- Work performed in an office environment where the noise level is moderate. Regularly required to stand, sit, and walk around the office. Frequently required to work on a computer. Occasionally required to use force to lift, push and pull up to 20 pounds.

Additional Details:The pay range listed for this position is the anticipated starting salary or wage range, and the final offered rate will be based on individual merit and the relative compensation of employees in similar positions.
