We are seeking an Intermediate CAD Technician (Water Resources) to join our Ontario Environmental Services team. You will be part of the Water Resources Technical Team within Stantec's Environmental Services Business Line.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Prepare CAD drawings and design packages for water resources and hydrotechnical projects using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Interpret engineering markups, sketches and translate them into accurate drawing deliverables
- Develop and edit surfaces, profiles, cross-sections, and plan/profile drawings for riverine, coastal, and other water management projects
- Prepare grading plans, erosion and sediment control drawings, and as-built/redline updates as part of project design deliverables
- Support drawing production for culverts, channel works, bank stabilization, shoreline protection, stormwater, municipal drainage, and mining/water management projects
- Perform primarily office-based work, with regular collaboration across project teams
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality drafting work
- Consistent attention to detail
- Thorough understanding of civil drafting and design documentation, with the ability to build surfaces, profiles, and cross-sections
- Familiarity with river works, coastal and shoreline infrastructure, stormwater and municipal drainage, and mining/water management projects
- Basic understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, and drainage principles.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities
- ArcGIS experience is an asset
Education and Experience
Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or similar
OACETT certification (C.Tech. or C.E.T.) is an asset
Minimum 5 years of AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience
Experience preparing drawings for water resources, hydrotechnical, drainage, or civil infrastructure projects
Experience in a consulting environment is preferred
Experience with HEC-RAS mapping is an asset
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Range:• Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$72,300.00 - $104,800.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
