Tumbler Ridge, BC, this role offers the opportunity to build your archaeological career while contributing to responsible development, Indigenous engagement, environmental stewardship, and heritage resource management.
Working alongside experienced archaeologists, you'll participate in field programs, archaeological assessments, reporting, and project support across a variety of sectors including transportation, infrastructure, energy, and land development.
Your Impact- Support archaeological impact assessments, monitoring programs, and field investigations throughout British Columbia.
- Assist with archaeological surveys, site recording, mapping, excavation, and artifact documentation.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, permit applications, and heritage management documentation.
- Collaborate with senior archaeologists, environmental professionals, and project teams to deliver high-quality work.
- Help ensure compliance with provincial heritage legislation, permit requirements, and company standards.
- Maintain accurate field notes, photographic records, GPS data, and archaeological inventories.
- Promote a strong culture of health, safety, and environmental stewardship during all field activities.
- Build meaningful experience that contributes to the protection and understanding of cultural heritage resources.
The Skills That Set You Apart- Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related discipline.
- Eligibility to work toward British Columbia archaeological permitting requirements.
- Experience supporting archaeological field studies through academic projects, co-op placements, or professional work.
- Knowledge of archaeological survey methods, excavation techniques, and artifact recording practices.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in remote outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with GIS software is considered an asset.
- Strong technical writing, organization, and data management skills; detail-oriented and driven by high-quality results.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and willingness to travel throughout British Columbia as required.
- Commitment and enthusiasm for working with Indigenous communities.
- Skilled with standard field technology, including GPS and tablets; ESRI Field Maps experience is an asset.
CompensationAB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $69,700 - $92,300MB & ON: $63,600 - $87,500NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $62,900 - $83,600Disclosure:The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
