Full Job Description
Job Title: Integrated Business Planning Analyst

Location: Remote
Department: Integrated Business Planning
Reports To: Sr. Manager, Demand Planning

Job Summary

The Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Analyst plays a critical role in balancing supply and demand across regions, channels, and product lines. This position owns the global inventory allocation framework, monitors and drives global demand planning attainment, and is the custodian of IBP process excellence. You will partner cross-functionally with Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Logistics, Commercial, and Finance to enable customer service performance while optimizing working capital and other financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Global Inventory Allocation
  • Design, maintain, and continuously improve the global inventory allocation strategy, including prioritization rules for regions/channels/customers and ATP/CTP guardrails.
  • Run allocation cycles and exception management: reconcile planned supply vs. demand, apply fair-share logic, and resolve escalations.
  • Configure and steward allocation and inventory policies (e.g., service class/service level, safety stock settings, MOQ, lead times, and EOQ) and ensure alignment to business rules.
  • Monitor inventory health (DOH, turns, excess/obsolete, stranded stock) and lead corrective action plans (rebalancing, substitutions, transfers).
  • Drive root cause analysis on stockouts and late orders; publish action plans with owners and deadlines.
  • Own back order reporting and supply risk communication with Business Unit.

Demand Planning Attainment & Forecast Quality
  • Track and report monthly demand planning attainment for global regions against IBP baselines; establish clear definitions for attainment and bias.
  • Build and maintain forecast accuracy (MAPE, WAPE) and bias dashboards by region, product family, lifecycle stage, and customer segment.
  • Diagnose drivers of variation (promotions, NPI, cannibalization, price changes, seasonality) and recommend model or parameter adjustments.
  • Partner with Demand Planners and Sales to improve signal quality and enhance consensus inputs.

S&OP Process Management
  • Support execution of calendar, inputs, and outputs for IBP cycle (Demand Review 12 Supply Review 12 Pre-S&OP 12 Executive S&OP).
  • Standardize and document process artifacts (templates, SOPs, RACI, data definitions, exception codes and other policies).
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment on constrained/unconstrained plans, trade-offs, and executive decisions; ensure decisions are logged and tracked to closure.
  • Drive continuous improvement (lean, digital, automation) to reduce cycle time, manual work, and improve decision quality.
  • Partner with Center of Excellence to implement key strategic initiatives.

Analytics & Decision Support
  • Build and automate reports: inventory allocation effectiveness, demand attainment, service level, fill rate, backlog age, expedites, cost-to-serve.
  • Develop scenario analyses (what-if/what-then) for constraint management, allocation policy changes, and demand surges.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis to support commercial priorities, NPI ramps, inventory projections, end-of-life strategies, channel/customer special programs, and supply disruptions.
  • Translate insights into clear recommendations with quantified impact (service, revenue, margin, cash).
  • Ensure master data integrity (SKU, BOM, lead times, horizons, MOQ, pack sizes, ABC classification).
  • Maintain KPIs, thresholds, and alerting (e.g., allocation SLA, forecast bias guardrails, inventory age bands).
  • Own back order projection for the Business Unit for both manufacturing and commercial back order.

Communication & Collaboration
  • Act as a liaison between commercial teams, supply planning, quality, and logistics teams to ensure alignment and resolve conflicts.
  • Support IBP meetings with accurate updates and insights.
  • Escalate potential risks to supply and demand plans and propose mitigation plans.
  • Participate in the daily S&OE and weekly meetings with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and Materials; surface risks, make trade-offs, and drive decisions.

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • 3-5+ years in S&OP, Demand Planning, Supply Planning, or Inventory Management in a multi-region environment.

Preferred
  • Proficiency with planning systems (e.g., SAP IBP, Oracle, Kinaxis RapidResponse, o9, Anaplan; or equivalent), and advanced Excel/Power BI/Tableau.
  • Strong analytical capabilities (SQL, Power Query, or Python a plus); experience building dashboards and automating reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to run cross-functional processes, manage escalations, and present to senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of inventory optimization concepts (service levels, safety stock, EOQ, ABC/XYZ) and forecast quality metrics (MAPE, WAPE, Bias).
  • Experience with global product portfolios, multi-plant/multi-DC networks, and channel/customer allocation.
  • Familiarity with constraint-based planning, ATP/CTP, and fair-share allocation logic.
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP) or equivalent.
  • Exposure to demand sensing, POS integration, and lifecycle/NPI forecasting.

Core Competencies
  • Systems Thinking: Connects demand, supply, and inventory policies to end-to-end outcomes.
  • Analytical Capability: Able to utilize Excel, PowerBI, AI and other data to support complex analysis.
  • Data-Driven: Comfortable with complex, noisy data; builds reproducible analytics.
  • Process Excellence: Designs clear workflows and improves them over time.
  • Influence & Communication: Simplifies trade-offs and analysis, aligns stakeholders, and drives decisions.
  • Bias for Action: Prioritizes customer outcomes while protecting working capital.
