The Role
The Instrumentation & Controls Engineer provides instrumentation and control (I&C) engineering services to Worley and its customers. The role supports the delivery of I&C engineering work across projects, contributing to design, technical documentation, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project execution while working under the guidance of more experienced engineers.
Responsibilities
Execute instrumentation and controls engineering activities for assigned project scopes in accordance with Worley, client, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
Develop, review, and maintain I&C engineering deliverables, including P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, instrument datasheets, I/O lists, instrument location drawings, cable schedules, and material requisitions.
Participate in project meetings, design reviews, progress reporting, and required checking and quality assurance activities.
Support the development of instrumentation specifications, calculations, equipment selections, and technical documentation.
Provide engineering support during procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities, including responding to technical queries and reviewing vendor documentation.
Coordinate with process, electrical, mechanical, piping, automation, and other disciplines to ensure effective integration of I&C systems.
Participate in HAZOP, LOPA, and other technical or safety reviews as required.
Identify technical issues, discrepancies, and scope changes and support the development and implementation of appropriate solutions.
Assist with field verification, site visits, walkdowns, and commissioning activities where required.
Communicate effectively with project teams, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Support and contribute to the development of less experienced team members as appropriate.
