Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

The Instructional Designer develops structured, high-impact training using modern methodologies like ADDIE, SAM, and LxD. The role focuses on creating scalable learning solutions, building SEMATECH-aligned certification frameworks, and leveraging AI for personalized training.
Responsibilities
  • Building certification frameworks aligned with SEMATECH standards
  • Exploring AI-driven solutions for training personalization and scalability
  • Applying instructional design principles to classroom and online training
  • Developing storyboards, documents, eLearning modules, and other media for training delivery
  • Designing training for hardware service, maintenance, installation, repair, troubleshooting, part replacement, and upgrades
  • Interfacing with functional teams (e.g., R&D, support, manufacturing) to develop training content
  • Researching and converting technical information into training for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Conducting independent review meetings with engineering and technical staff
  • Supporting testing and validation of training solutions, specifying revisions, and validating with SMEs
  • Submitting change requests for written procedures as needed
  • Following documentation best practices and templates; devising new standards where necessary
  • Managing projects end-to-end, including planning, monitoring, and change management
  • Maintaining action trackers and project documentation
  • Making independent decisions with minimal or no managerial support
  • Demonstrating independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria
  • Collaborating effectively with SMEs across functions and geographies
  • Driving alignment among stakeholders with conflicting requirements
  • Handling complex problems requiring higher-order critical thinking and evaluation of alternatives
  • Maintaining a high level of detail orientation while keeping the big picture in mind
  • Demonstrating high motivation, initiative, and commitment to continuous learning
  • Communicating clearly in written and spoken English with an international audience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Science, or Instructional Design
  • At least 7 years of experience in technical engineering fields (semiconductor industry preferred)
  • Strong technical developing skills with demonstrable examples
  • High-level English proficiency with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, collaborate across global teams, and apply modern instructional design methodologies such as ADDIE, SAM, and LxD.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years;OR equivalent work experience


Base Pay Range: $73,500.00 - $125,000.00 Annually

Primary Location: USA-AZ-Phoenix-KLA
