What you will do

Johnson Controls is a global leader in smart, healthy, and sustainable buildings. In this role, you will help deliver security projects that protect people, assets, and operations while keeping work aligned to schedule, cost, quality, safety, and customer expectations.

You will lead moderately complex security projects that are typically assigned medium to high corporate priority. This role calls for strong project management discipline, practical security system knowledge, and clear communication with customers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure successful delivery from planning through closeout.

How you will do it
  • Lead security projects from initiation through completion, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, quality, and safety remain under control.

  • Define project scope, identify risks, and coordinate the resources needed to deliver security system installations successfully.

  • Provide subject matter expertise in project management, security system setup, prioritization, and project facilitation.

  • Communicate project updates, cycle status, and expected results to management, customers, and project staff.

  • Track project expenditures, installation progress, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Support vendor coordination and manage vendor relationships as needed during the installation process.

  • Conduct worksite inspections and ensure workmanship meets Johnson Controls quality standards and customer expectations.

  • Close projects on time and within scope, including timely follow-up on open items and customer concerns.

  • Apply PMI methodology and the key knowledge areas that support successful security project delivery, including Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Human Resources, Communications, Risk, and Procurement Management.

  • Build a clear work plan, assign responsibilities, define the scope of authority, and provide technical advice and problem resolution across all phases of the project.

  • Maintain full financial accountability by tracking project expenditures, forecasting trends, and understanding both Johnson Controls and client cost structures.

  • Use AIA standards to translate and align financial and accounting information accurately throughout the project.

  • Keep communication concise, timely, and professional so project staff, customers, and Johnson Controls management have the information they need to act.

  • Stay close to the work, remove obstacles quickly, and maintain ownership of outcomes through to project closeout.

  • Inspect installation progress and workmanship regularly, address issues early, and adjust plans when the project requires it.

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to keep the project moving safely, efficiently, and with strong customer focus.

  • Ability to travel 90% of the time within region

What we look for

Required

  • Bachelor6s Degree or Associates Degree or equivalent work experience of at least five years.

  • Travel as needed.

  • 5 years Project Management - security industry (preferred) or new construction experience.

Preferred

  • Certifications preferred or ability to acquire certification within 6 months of employment in the position.

  • PMI PMP (Project Management Institute, Project Management Professional)

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $85,000- 117,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience,knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with marketdata.)
