Job Title: Inside Sales Manager - Metal Fabrication

Position Summary

The Inside Sales Manager oversees the inside sales team and drives revenue growth by managing inquiries, quotations, and project follow-ups within the metal fabrication industry. This role ensures timely communication with customers, accurate quoting, and consistent follow-through on projects from initial contact through delivery. The ideal candidate has technical understanding of metal fabrication processes and excels at building strong customer relationships while maintaining an organized, proactive sales pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming customer inquiries regarding fabricated metal parts, assemblies, and related services.
  • Qualify leads and collaborate with engineering, estimating, and production teams to ensure accurate and competitive quotations.
  • Manage the full sales cycle: from estimating and proposal development to negotiations, close, and post-sale communication.
  • Maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers through proactive communication and exceptional service.

Project Follow-Up & Pipeline Management

  • Consistently follow up on open quotes, pending projects, and outstanding opportunities to maximize conversion rates.
  • Track project status and customer feedback to ensure timely decision-making.
  • Update CRM systems daily with activities, follow-ups, and pipeline progress.
  • Monitor delivery timelines and coordinate with production to address any issues, keeping customers informed throughout the process.

Team Leadership & Internal Coordination

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the inside sales team to meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Work closely with engineering, operations, and purchasing to ensure accurate cost estimates, manufacturability reviews, and feasible delivery schedules.
  • Conduct regular pipeline and performance reviews with the sales team.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Analyze sales trends, pipeline activity, and quotation success rates to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare regular sales forecasts and performance reports for senior leadership.
  • Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, and pricing trends within the metal fabrication industry.
