Full Job Description
Summary of Position

Support Curium's server infrastructure services to ensure secure, reliable, and compliant operations. This role executes day-to-day server operations, monitoring and incident response, backup and restore activities, and contributes hands-on resources to infrastructure projects (run vs. change). The Infrastructure Engineer participates in on-call coverage and administers Active Directory server/computer objects and system-required groups within delegated scope.

Work Schedule: M - F 8am - 5pm

Essential Functions

  • Operate day-to-day server administration activities (Windows/Linux, on-prem and/or cloud), ensuring stability, performance, and availability.
  • Monitor infrastructure health and respond to alerts; troubleshoot issues and coordinate resolution with internal teams and/or service providers.
  • Support ITSM processes (Incident/Problem/Change/Request) through ticket-driven execution, clear communications, and structured escalations.
  • Execute standard operational tasks including service requests, housekeeping, documentation updates, and CMDB/configuration record hygiene.
  • Perform backup operations: onboard servers to standard backup jobs, monitor job success/failures, remediate issues, and execute restores as requested.
  • Support periodic restore testing and provide operational evidence/reporting to validate recoverability and compliance.
  • Provide project support for server builds, upgrades, migrations, decommissions and improvements; collaborate with Architecture, Security, Network, and Application teams.
  • Contribute to standardization and automation initiatives aligned with Curium Infrastructure Standards and security baselines.
  • Participate in on-call rotation (after-hours/weekend as required), respond to major incidents, and support post-incident follow-up actions.
  • Follow Curium SOPs and Quality system requirements (including GxP where applicable) and support internal/external audits.
  • Active Directory (scoped): pre-stage and maintain server/computer objects in the appropriate OU prior to domain join; manage lifecycle actions (move/rename/disable) within delegated scope.
  • Active Directory (scoped): manage AD security groups required for systems and servers (create/modify memberships/retire) in support of infrastructure and application dependencies, using approved/ticketed processes.
  • Coordinate server-related Group Policy (GPO) needs through the approved governance process (request/approval workflow); implement only within authorized scope.
  • Liaise with third parties maintenance companies
  • Must maintain operational compliance with US and international regulatory agencies and guidelines (i.e. FDA, DEA, EU, HC, TGA, PIC/S, ISO, USP, NRC, cGMP, etc.).


Requirements

Must-have Experience/Skills
  • Experience in server operations / infrastructure support (Windows Server and/or Linux), including monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL/ITSM practices (Incident/Problem/Change/Request) in a ticket-driven operating model.
  • Backup & restore operations experience (job monitoring, troubleshooting failures, restores, and recoverability testing support).
  • Hands-on execution of server onboarding activities (monitoring, backup, baseline verification, documentation).
  • Active Directory experience (scoped to server/computer objects and system-required groups), including OU placement and group membership administration.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to perform calm, structured actions during high-impact incidents.
  • Availability for on-call rotation.
Nice-to-have Experience/Skills
  • Exposure to virtualization platforms and enterprise monitoring tools. (VMWare/HyperV/Azure)
  • Familiarity with backup platforms (e.g., Veeam) and immutable backup concepts.
  • Experience in regulated pharma/life-science environments (GxP) with SOP discipline and audit readiness.
  • Certifications (optional): ITIL Foundation, Microsoft/Azure fundamentals, or vendor certifications aligned with server operations.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Working Conditions:
  • Willingness to work in plant producing radioactive materials and requiring all employees to participate in safety programs designed to minimize potential and/or actual exposure levels.
  • Responsibilities include the ability to lift up to 70 pounds, kneeling, crouching, twisting the upper body, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, must be able to physically negotiate stairs and evacuation ladders with or without accommodation, wear and operate safety equipment, enter vessels, and inspect equipment.
  • Material handling devices (e.g., hand truck, fork truck, and conveyors) are used when possible, however, use of proper lifting and movement techniques is necessary to prevent injury.
  • Must be willing to wear a variety of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and hearing protection as needed.
  • May be required to sit or stand for long periods of 8+ hours a day while performing duties.
  • Must possess good hand-eye coordination; close attention to detail is required.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors with exposure to mechanical/moving parts, hazards including corrosive, flammable and toxic material, dust, dirt, odors, and irritants.
  • Willingness to complete safety training within allotted timeframes, and work in a team-based environment.
  • Must be able to work outside of regular work hours, including off shift, weekend, and holiday work as business needs require.
