ABOUT THE ROLE

The Maintenance Lead position assists the plant maintenance mechanics in coordinating and controlling plant and facility activities. This position helps plan and provide maintenance for mechanical equipment, troubleshoot, and solve problems for manufacturing and building equipment. Maintains records (including work orders, SOPs, LOTO, confined spaces, etc.) and equipment to reduce delays, costs, and breakdowns. Contributes to a work environment where all employees work safely and respectfully with one another.

This is a daytime position.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Coordinates with the plant and maintenance managers to assign individual projects, tasks, and priorities for the mechanics/electricians.
  • Assist electricians and engineers with routine tasks as needed.
  • Provides input on preventive and predictive maintenance and condition-based maintenance programs.
  • Assists engineering and production departments in the development and execution of ideas to improve products and machinery methods.
  • Responsible for plant machinery and equipment maintenance by executing preventative maintenance, breakdown, and project work orders.
  • Responds to repair and part requirements to maintain all machinery at its highest level of integrity.
  • Assists in maintaining the spare parts inventory.
  • Determines plant machinery needs and requirements and communicates repairs and adjustments to maintenance and production supervisory personnel.
  • Works with shift supervisors on problems/solutions to minimize downtime and slow the time of equipment.
  • Mentors and monitors the craftsmanship of work performed by the team.
  • Monitors and enforces job safety requirements and expectations for the maintenance department.
  • Participates in root cause analysis exercises to eliminate recurring downtime events.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.


WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: High School or General Education Degree (GED)

Required Work Experience: Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in the manufacturing maintenance field, including mechanical, electrical, millwright, equipment installation, welding, and fabrication.

Travel Requirements: NA

Additional Requirements:
  • Experience with layout and fabrication work is preferred.
  • An understanding of PLCs, VFDs, and HMIs to communicate knowledgeably with management and outside contractors.
  • All positions require communication skills, accountability, attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage time.
  • Respond to change productively, and handle all other assigned tasks-including the ability to take initiative and make independent decisions.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees who are required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
