Full Job Description
We are looking for an Industrial Engineer for our new PACS facility. This position will be based in Wendell, NC. Relo assistance available.

You will play a key part in designing, improving, and scaling manufacturing processes that support the production of engineered protection and automation panel solutions. You will work directly with production, quality, planning, engineering, and leadership teams to improve safety, quality, delivery performance, and productivity.

This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys balancing hands-on manufacturing support with analytical problem-solving. You will be responsible for establishing manufacturing standards, driving process improvements, supporting new product introductions, and implementing practical digital manufacturing solutions that improve factory performance.

Success in this role requires strong technical curiosity, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to convert operational data into actionable improvements on the production floor. The role aligns closely with the PACS manufacturing growth strategy and Industrial Engineering roadmap.

You'll make an impact by:
  • Improving safety, ergonomics, and workflow efficiency across PACS assembly operations through process analysis, workstation design, and risk reduction initiatives.
  • Conducting time studies, labor analysis, capacity planning, and line balancing activities to improve throughput and production stability.
  • Developing, documenting, and maintaining standardized work instructions, manufacturing methods, and process best practices.
  • Leading continuous improvement projects focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity performance (SQDCP).
  • Supporting new product introductions, engineering changes, and product transfers through manufacturing readiness assessments and process validation activities.
  • Designing and implementing manufacturing fixtures, tooling, workstations, and material flow improvements that increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles including 5S, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, visual management, waste elimination, and corrective action methodologies.
  • Partnering with supervisors, planners, quality engineers, and operations leaders to identify and resolve production constraints.
  • Supporting digital manufacturing initiatives, including digital work instructions, performance dashboards, and data-driven operational improvements.
  • Analyzing manufacturing performance metrics and recommending solutions that improve operational effectiveness and customer delivery performance.
  • Assisting with capital equipment justification, implementation, and productivity improvement initiatives to support business growth.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, operations excellence, or continuous improvement within a production environment.
  • Experience conducting time studies, labor analysis, process mapping, and manufacturing workflow optimization.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools including 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work methodologies.
  • Experience supporting production environments through process improvement, tooling implementation, or manufacturing project execution.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and engineering data analysis tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with electrical assembly, control panels, switchgear, protection systems, automation products, or engineered-to-order manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design software.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP/MRP systems.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent continuous improvement certification.
  • Experience developing digital manufacturing solutions, production dashboards, or digital work instructions.
  • Experience with manufacturing simulations, capacity models, line balancing, or takt-time analysis.
  • Understanding of Industry 4.0 and smart factory concepts.

The pay range for this position is $74,970 - $128,520 annually with a target incentive of 5% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
