Full Job Description
LOCATION: Metal Container Corporation in Newburgh, NY.

SALARY:
  • $37.96-$42.78 per hour for the first 8 hours of a shift.
  • $56.94-$64.17 per hour for the next 4.25 hours at 1.5x base rate.
  • Pay increases after completion of certifications and licenses. Ranging from $0.90-$2.45 per hour on base rate and $1.35-$3.68 at 1.5x rate up to the maximum hourly rate.
  • Quarterly bonus eligible based on KPIs.
  • Double time for working on a holiday + holiday pay (a regular day's pay).
  • Paid every week.


SHIFT:
  • 12.25 hour shifts (5:45am-6:00pm and 5:45pm-6:00am).
  • Rotate day and night shift every six weeks.
  • 3 days on and 3 days off.
  • Full calendar schedule provided on first day of employment.


ROLE SUMMARY:

Our Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining automated industrial control systems, bridging electrical wiring with software logic. You will ensure maximum uptime of machinery by diagnosing failures, updating PLC/HMI programs, and repairing electrical components like sensors, drives, and motors

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair for 480-volt, 3 phase systems, and minimizing downtime will be necessary.
  • Support, troubleshoot, improve, and maintain high-speed production and packaging machinery.
  • Responsible for programmable controllers and computer process controls.
  • Analyze plant-wide electrical process data to make decisions on equipment maintenance and process improvement activities
  • Adhere to plant safety and sanitation requirements; complete assigned work safely and efficiently per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives utilizing Lean methodology including root cause analysis, process flow maps, etc.
  • Clearly document and communicate maintenance and quality events using computer reporting systems/Cross-training opportunities available to maximize your earnings and expand your technical knowledge


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Electrical experience required including:

    1. High-speed manufacturing or industrial experience

    2. VFD experience

    3. Allen Bradley PLC5 programming and troubleshooting

    4. Ability to comprehend electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints with pneumatic and hydraulic process knowledge

    5. Knowledge of safety policies and procedures (e.g. lock out /tag out, confined space entry, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment with people of varying skills and backgrounds
  • Must be able to continuously stand, bend, and twist. Must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds
  • Computer skills required
