Implant Process EngineerSalary Range: $100k to $145k Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Implant Process Engineer to support semiconductor manufacturing operations through the development, optimization, and sustainment of ion implantation and epitaxial growth processes. This role is responsible for driving process stability, equipment performance, yield improvement, and continuous process optimization while collaborating with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.

The ideal candidate combines strong semiconductor process knowledge with analytical problem-solving skills and hands-on experience supporting advanced wafer fabrication equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, optimize, and sustain ion implantation and epitaxial (EPI) process technologies within a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
  • Support process qualification, equipment characterization, and long-term process stability initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot complex process and equipment issues impacting manufacturing performance, yield, and product quality.
  • Analyze process and electrical data to identify trends, determine root cause, and implement corrective actions.
  • Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies to monitor and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with process, device, integration, yield, and manufacturing engineering teams to develop robust process solutions.
  • Support equipment qualifications, process improvements, recipe optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Investigate yield excursions and evaluate equipment-related process impacts.
  • Partner with manufacturing technicians to resolve daily production issues, prioritize activities, and support held-lot disposition.
  • Analyze E-test and process data to disposition non-conforming wafers and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, operating procedures, specifications, and engineering standards.
  • Participate in cross-functional problem-solving activities to improve manufacturing performance and product quality.
  • Support failure analysis efforts through the development of analytical methods and process improvements.
  • Evaluate opportunities for process capability enhancements and capital equipment improvements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 1+ years of semiconductor process engineering experience in wafer fabrication or advanced manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience supporting ion implantation equipment and semiconductor process technologies.
  • Experience with epitaxial (EPI) growth processes and related manufacturing equipment.
  • Working knowledge of CMOS, Bipolar, BiCMOS, SiGe, or similar semiconductor device technologies.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC), process monitoring, and yield improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis using process and manufacturing data.
  • Experience utilizing engineering software and data analysis tools such as JMP, Excel, MES, or comparable manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to interpret process, metrology, and electrical test data to drive process improvements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical findings to engineering and leadership teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in a related engineering or scientific discipline.
  • Experience supporting advanced ion implantation platforms from leading semiconductor equipment manufacturers.
  • Experience with implant recipe development and process optimization.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor metrology, equipment qualification, and process characterization techniques.
  • Experience with high-volume semiconductor manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with failure analysis methodologies and advanced data analysis techniques.
