Pay Range:

$78,100.00 - $128,500.00

Position Summary:

The responsibilities of this position are to serve as a leader in plate-based ELISA and bead-based multiplex Luminex product development efforts and create marketing collateral to support the continued expansion of the immunoassay portfolio.You will be involved in assay development from initial concept through product release, and work on problems of high complexity.In addition, this role includes maintaining familiarity with the current trends and market needs, as well as defining and proposing appropriate processes while working with the larger Bio-Techne organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take a leading role in complex research projects relating to new immunoassay product development, driving assigned projects forward to successful conclusions

  • Work effectively and manage simultaneous projects whilst meeting agreed milestones, timeline and product requirements

  • Gather and analyze data to draw conclusions and determine next steps for future experimentation as well as improvements to existing processes.

  • Generate high quality reports and presentations for core teams and stakeholders and detail work in electronic laboratory notebooks and other required documentation.

  • Collaborate effectively across departments and business functions.

  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders on workload, prioritization, and progress.

  • Actively contributes to design control and phase gate processes.

  • Be an active contributor to core and technical teams by identifying and proposing product requirements.

  • Deliver presentations and project updates to core teams and stakeholders.

  • Develop strong business acumen to help drive projects to successful commercial products.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and develop marketing content to support the release of new products.

  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Handbook and follows guidelines regarding safety as outlined in the AWAIR, Chemical Hygiene and Exposure Control manuals in accordance with the job.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Masters degree in biochemistry, biology or equivalent with a minimum of 8 to 10 years of research experience required, or

  • PhD in biochemistry, biology or equivalent and demonstrated working knowledge of scientific principles

  • Experience developing immunoassays is preferred.

  • Experience with electronic lab notebooks (ELN) and database management are desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment, which includes the use of all instruments related to immunoassays.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to make effective decisions and problem-solve.

  • Demonstrable leadership capability in training and mentoring other lab members.

  • Computer entry and/or typing skills are desirable.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Proficient in planning, organizational, and multi-tasking skills to complete assignments in an efficient manner in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to work independently and ability to collaborate across different groups.

  • Skills in problem solving, including the ability to identify and appropriately evaluate an alternative course of action.

  • Strong ability to communicate professionally, both oral and written, along with presentation skills.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and proprietary information with discretion and confidentiality.
