Hiring Manager: Mark VanDam - Facilities Manager, Carey Lively - Principal HVAC Engineering Lead

Location: Pfizer Rocky Mount 27801

Pay/Bill Rate: $40-$45/ $85/hr

Schedule: 3-2-2 schedule 6:45am - 6:45pm

Conversion Details: 6 month contract to hire

Degree: no degree requirement, associates or higher in related field preferred

Requirements for the job:

8+ years of experience repairing, troubleshooting, and performing PM on HVAC & Utility systems in a GMP setting as well as team lead experience

Systems Requirements:
  • HVAC mechanical systems (AHU, Boilers, Chillers)
  • Refrigeration systems
  • Clean and Dirty Utility systems
  • Centrifugal pumps and automated valves
  • HVAC Shift Lead Roles and Responsibilities

Identify deficiencies and functional issues with site HVAC systems performance.

Complete corrective actions as required to correct deficiencies.

Follow safety procedures, recommended practices, job safety analysis (JSA), always follows safe work practices

Coordinate maintenance and installation of HVAC systems including support utilities as directed by the Principal Engineer

Read and understand detailed plans and submittals as related to specific HVAC installations of HVAC and support systems

equipment and building automation systems.

Detailed knowledge of HVAC system(s) controls including sites building automation system (MetaSys)

Ensure utility activities comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices and other related regulatory practices.

Perform daily system trend checks and implement actions as required to address out range findings

Supervise daily activities of shift personnel. Note: this position does not involve direct supervision, the position is responsible for ensuring the associated shift completes the required daily shift requirements.

Responsible for planning and scheduling of contractor HAVAC related tasks.

Instruct other technicians in the operation and functionality of the site HVAC systems.

Responsible for supporting planning and execution of HVAC maintenance/projects during site shutdowns.

HVAC Shift Lead Requirements

Valid EPA 608 Universal license

Minimum eight years progressive experience in HVAC maintenance

Minimum two years performing HVAC maintenance in GMP environment.

Associates degree or advanced technical certification preferred.

Knowledge of the general trades: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, machine shop, etc.

Possess skill to understand and execute simple to complex maintenance tasks for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems.

  1. They must have interested in a CTH position in which they will convert to FTE with Pfizer after 6 months.
